Belts

I need you help guys. Looking for a belt to pull off with the natural CXL Mr Lou. I find most brown shades difficult to pair with the natural CXL.
Any ideas/recommendations?
I prefer simple and clean looking belts.
For reference a picture of the boots paired with the tochigi belt. My inner Monk tells me that this combo somehow doesn't work.Mike Falkner at Wild Frontier Goods makes beautiful robust belts - you could try a kakisibu painted belt which could work with cxl. I have 2 of his belts and they are my favourites.

The shown combo looks great. Too perfect of a combo or ensemble makes a person look uptight with their head stuck way up their ass.

Was thinking about getting an OGL garrison belt and compared it against some belts I already have. I've been sorta into higher waisted jeans, so naturally they're a little more cinched when they're higher up than their usual spot more down by my hips.
I compared against a Naked & Famous belt I have that measures 35.5 to the hole I use. I'm pretty clear on measurements etc but the one thing that's throwing me off is that according to the OGL size charts, I'd wear a small. That's just weird to me.
Just curious about anyone who's a similar size to me (6'2, 185lbs, 34 waist) who's owned an OGL belt — what size did you get?
Thanks in advance!

Hey @popvulture dont be thrown off my man, OGL belts do run rather large. We are pretty much the same size and I have perfect fitting mediums in all my OGL belts. If you are around 34 tag or actual in IH bottoms then I’d go for a medium to be safe for sure.

Alright sweet, good to know man! Thank you. My big worry was that I'd get a bigger size and end up being on the smallest hole, but you definitely seem to be a pretty 1:1 reference to me, so I'll gladly take that suggestion and go up to medium. Much much appreciated

My new IH-777-XHS have made it apparent that my old Wilson Leather belt is insufficient for heavyweight denim. Picked up a B.Weiss Super Beast belt in veg tanned today to fix that. Looking forward to the upgrade, and to start developing my own patina.
He mentioned he has a pretty big IH following after I told him who sent me

That’s definitely my next belt from him and I’ve even bought a special buckle for it. Any chance you could post a picture of yours? @FlannelnBooze

I'll post a photo once I have it.
FYI, he uses rivets for better durability, but he said I could request screws to swap out the buckle. I nearly swapped to screws so I could put the occasional large belt buckle on, but opted to keep this one 'standard' with the quick release buckle. May want to send him a message to confirm before spending the money and expecting to swap out the buckle yourself.

I already have a belt( Indigo dyed double prong rough out 1.75 width)from him and had a very pleasant experience dealing with him. I was going to send him the buckle first.
Lovely way to do it.
I still need a quality black belt, but that one will be pulling double duty between the office and casual use. I may dig around for some other options, but if I could send B.Weiss a buckle I want incorporated, may just go that route.

. @FlannelnBooze This is the belt he made for me. @pechelman does this help?

That's a gorgeous belt, @Jett129 . Love the contrast between the brass and deep indigo as well.
Very eager to have my belt land.

Super clean Horween natty with a copper coated brass buckle from Emil Erwin for Imogene + Willie.
Emil makes some really amazing stuff, I highly recommend checking him out.
