IHWA-02 - Iron Heart Watch V2

@budpatch I’m so thrilled you got one, it’s quite the nice watch and the price cant be beat. I goofed above, I have #6 🥸
After owning mine a couple of weeks, I can say that it’s a pleasure to own. The DLC finish is flawless and has a nice matte texture to it because of the case finish. It does pick up scuffs but they clean off with a damp cloth and gentle pressure. The dial & handset are magnificent and I imagine a large portion of the cost of the watch went into them. Lume is on par with other premium brands (say Breitling) and pretty good. I do miss having the seconds hand lumed because it is very hard to see at low light. I think Piers left it plain to keep the dial as clean as possible, the same reason he kept the Pinion branding to the crown and caseback. I’ll get over it.The crown was initially quite stiff to wind and set but after some wrist time it winds smooth as silk. I have owned several other Unitas movement-powered pieces including a couple Panerai and it was definitely noticeable. It was a little worrisome at first but I attribute to being new and sitting for a while. At any rate it is back to what I would say is normal. I cant speak to time keeping because I stopped timing my watches a long time ago as it only drives me nuts.
I wasnt sure about how I would feel about a black case, band, face, & hands with a chromed crown and brushed clasp but it all works somehow. I hope to wear it with pride for a long time, especially knowing that we are part of a very exclusive watch club [emoji41]

It's a good job you did. Someone else bought it 10 minutes after you (it's an annoying quirk we have in our software that means we can sell the same thing more than once - only happens about 3 times per year). @AdamC had a difficult phone call to make first thing this morning…....
I got in touch with Haraki because I knew that he had had one for a couple of years that had not sold. Would you believe it, he sold it last week....
Damn lucky it seems…I've been the guy on the other end of that phone call before and can still feel the hot tears streaming down my cheeks.

I find that you and I have similar taste in gear…not at all surprised that it translates to watches too.
Thanks for the breakdown on the movement. I've been looking at Panerai's with Uintas movement for a few years but haven't been able to find one I loved at the right price. Watches tend to be great investments if purchased and maintained properly, this was one of the selling points for my wife aside from the "you don't have to find me an anniversary gift now" lure. The exclusivity of this piece will certainly add to its value over time.
I don't time my watches either, but I've got a collector buddy and I know that is going to be one of the first questions he asks when he sees this on my wrist.
I run on IH-T, not GMT!

The watch arrived today, what a wonderful time piece!
A couple of first impressions:
-
The watch appears to have been the demo model, it has clearly been worn a number of times in a number of band positions
-
The watch roll is impressive! I wish other things of beauty came in such useful packaging.
-
Movement/Winding was smooth out of the gate, likely due to this having been worn and wound previously
While I still feel like this was a good decision, and most likely still would have bought it, it would have been nice to know that the watch was used prior to making the decision to purchase it.

I appreciate the quick reply outside of business hours @AdamC @Giles and am super grateful to you for taking care of the issue promptly. There is a reason I continue to spend my hard earned coin on IH gear, it is the best and the customer service is just as great as the quality of the products. Thanks again for sorting out the band!
Really pleased with the look, feel, and function of the watch and I know I'm going to enjoy it for decades to come. The hardest part is going to be not sneaking it onto my wrist until it is "officially" gifted to me in May…at least I can look at it, unroll it and roll it back up, and sneak it on for pics!

Glad you’re enjoying yours! Since I dont wear leather bands at work, I’m going to be sourcing some chevron natos from C&B later this month. I think it will be fun to mix it up with some complementary colors….maybe OD green or black and red or even a Bond scheme.

#6 back from the spa with a new movement and hands. I popped new legs on her last night and it feels like a whole new watch!

@Anesthetist
Looks phenomenal! I love that band, been pondering over what band I want to do next on mine as well. The shell band is just starting to break in and be comfortable though.New movement!?!? Pray tell…

Anyone else?

@Anesthetist I just noticed something similar, although not nearly as pronounced, on mine yesterday. A cloudy spot that appears to be on the inside of the crystal. Have you inquired with Pinon (or anyone else) yet? That was going to be my next move…
