IH-777S-142bb - 14oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered Jeans - Black/Black

@xtcclassic Impressive proof of how different personal preferences can be I can't wait until this denim fades to grey. The "deep" black is to "hard" for me. I prefer more a faded denim.
Update on my wash experiences: I gave mine a hot soak (40 degrees C) in our washing machine. It was the very first time that I carefully read the manual of our "MIELE" in order to find the perfect program/option. I decided to go with "wool": 25 minutes with only very careful agitation (like hand-agitation). No spin afterwards, but hangin' dry in the spring sun.
The result was perfect: no marbling, no fade creases. But a slightly decrease around waist and thigh - just as desired. Now the fit is perfect for me.
-
Post-soak picture: no obvious differences…
-
Update on my 777S-142bb. I am wearing this denim for 4 weeks now: one initial soak and one very gentle wash in the machine with 40 degrees C and no spin. After this short period of time the evolution is already obvious (in the direct sun) - it indeed "slowly" fades to grey Great jean for warmer days, by the way.
-
@Mickey GT have you been wearing these? If so, how are they fading? I have been wearing the western shirt version and love it…
-
@Oaktavia Indeed: I am wearing my BB as often as possible - 5-6 days a week for 2,5 months now. Check out the following picture:
Even though I didn't use a filter the fades look more intensive on the picture than in "real life". In normal light they are not obvious that strong. Nevertheless I am totally happy with the evo That's the reason why I have an eye on the BB shirt as well. But as I have so many IH shirts I decided not to pull the trigger…

Nice progress on those, @Mickey GT.
I put on mine for the first time in a while yesterday. They actually felt OK outside at 90 F, though I'm sure that the 25% humidity helped. I'm going to try to work them in more often going forward, and to give them regular wear after Labor Day, when I'm supposedly not allowed to wear white anymore.
-
Thanks gentlemen @Oaktavia and @BlueBlood
Some more pictures…
-
Hell yeah, that's great fading for 50-60 wears!
-
Thanks again @BlueBlood
My next (fall/winter) project is the BS69xSOP420 - 777-SBG. The jeans already arrived last week. But I won‘t wear them before September… I lately felt in love with black denim after wearing blue jeans for the last years.

@Mickey:

I nearly pulled the trigger on those “777 SBG” collab jeans earlier this year, when they appeared to be a one-off. But now that they’re in continuous production, I’m going to wait a while. My 14bb and 21od will suffice for now.

@BlueBlood: current project (777S-142bb, worn for almost 3 months now) on the right and the new project starting in September (777 SBG collab jeans) on the left:

Heck yeah, I need to get back to my 142bb soon. Currently toying around with my UHRs, but that won't last long in this heat.
-
Update: 14 weeks of (almost) daily wear… Pretty happy with the evo
-
Those look great @Mickey GT! Seems like you've been giving them a lot of abuse in a short space of time. Mine haven't faded as much, and I've been wearing them longer!

Wow nice grey fades @Mickey GT how many times have you washed? And what is your preferred washing method?
-
Thanks a lot @Lowlander @jerkules @Oaktavia
@Oaktavia : during this very hot summer I washed the denim almost every second weekend. I suppose that this denim was in the washing machine for 4 times since starting the project.
Our washing machine is providing different programms/options. I always go with „wool“: 40 degrees C, approx. 25 minutes with only very careful agitation (like hand-agitation). No spin afterwards - to avoid marbling.
