@Jcaz6996 well I have had a 10 month head start but yeah that marble pattern has been from washing despite soaking thoroughly in a utility sink beforehand each time. It seems indigo/black is more susceptible to this. Also black/black seems to marble easily too, my 295bb and XHSbb marbled with washing. Does not happen to my 293 for example with same washing process. I think marbling adds character and a vintage element to combine with contrasting fades. Vintage plus contrast is my sweet spot. Here are my notes from my wear/wash chart for the 409:
5 machine washes:
25-machine
46- machine
69- machine
116- machine
~134 machineToday is wear number 143 to a pool party this afternoon. The 295ib is an amazing fader and has more range of contrast than the 409 from what I have observed, especially in person. But 409 takes the crown for heft.
Edit: so if you are trying to avoid marbling or wherever y'alls opinions are of it, I would avoid a machine washer. I prefer the machine because it gets my denim clean. I don't really count soaks or soapy soaks as "washes" but to each their own.

My home washing machine has an impeller instead of an agitator, and I got tired of it messing up my IH gear with marbling and other inconsistencies. Decided to try taking my IH gear to a local laundromat where they have big front loaders, and for me that was a total game changer. Clothes come out really clean, with no unusual washing machine streaks, marbeling etc. Currently using Woolite Dark with cold water.

@goosehd don’t go down the thrifty road now 🫣
-
@goosehd i see you move things now and then because people are thread thrifting, for example on the IH 21oz caps the other day which is good cause you’re a mod and move things where they belong but i don’t think it’s a good idea out of my perspective that you thread thrift yourself about which washing machine people have in this thread. Luckily we’re people and no robots but just a heads up

@Heavy_blue for what it's worth, I agree with @goosehd that unrelated chatter should be kept to a minimum in the buying/selling threads for the sake of clarity and conciseness, and I would have moved the posts if he hadn't beaten me to it.
In the more general product threads such as this one a discussion on wear & tear as well as product care is beneficial for all forum users. Discussing the type of washing machine seems within reason to me.
And if a discussion does wander off-topic @goosehd and I are always happy to split that discussion off into a separate thread upon reminding, if we haven't done so already.
BTT: love the pics @Heavy_blue. Great to see how this beauty evolves differently for everyone

@Tago-Mago i didn’t say i didn’t agree. I DO agree that there shouldn’t be any thread drifting cause it takes away the vibe of sharing and caring our wonderful projects. But there’s a thin line when things are thread drifting and when they ain’t so sometimes people tend to drift and things get relocated which is fine offcourse and it’s great that you guys as MOD take care of that for us! So thank you for that! Furthermore i’m gonna let it go
Thanks for the wonderful compliment mate, much appreciated
