IHSH-62-ind - 12oz Wabash Western Shirt - Indigo

@long_john86 I think you may see slightly more shrinkage in length rather than width, from what I noticed after washing my jacket, but @Tago-Mago will probably be able to give you a more precise answer.
-
@Mister_Brue thanks for the info!
-
@long_john86 this is entirely subjective and in no way based on hard facts. I'd say I got some shrinkage across the board, most noticeably in the upper arms and in the length, both overall and a little in the sleeves. The length will sort itself out because the hem will roll up anyway, in my case particularly so in the back, which I don't mind
-
@Tago-Mago Roger that, I’m going in. Will report back. Cheers!
-
@long_john86 go for it. Be aware though that the sizing on this release runs fairly big, as @weftyarn also discovered, so if you get the opportunity to try one on first, that would be ideal
-
@Tago-Mago Yeah mine is from this release too, so hopefully should work out
-
@weftyarn I don’t understand how so many of the western cut shirts have different measurements, whether it is the length, some coming up slimmer than others etc? Don’t they all use the same pattern so they should be cut to the same measurements? Ima not sure why IH has this issue

Lots of people have this issue, we are just honest about it.

Yup, that’s it. I’ve never in my life had so few returns (only 1 out of 30 pieces or so!!!) on online orders. With the measurement charts + the crews support to remeasure a single piece, the chance of ordering wrong is almost zeroed.
and in the 1 case it went wrong for me (it was this run of the Wabash) it went wrong for exactly one reason: I did not closely look at the charts and ordered „blind“.
I can understand the frustration though that every once in a while there’s a piece that just doesn’t work when in theory the cut should work. But see it positively: The deviations sometimes work to your advantage making a fit possible that otherwise would be a no no

My guess is that the wabash is one of the few shirt materials that is not pre-washed to remove shrinkage. Perhaps to maintain the beautiful contrast of the bleached dots? If my theory is correct, the shirt should be slightly larger than western shirts that are one-washed at Iron Heart. I finally washed my IHSH-62-IND for the first time and went for the warm 40C wash to tighten up the chest and arms. It came out perfectly. The shirt shrank about 1/4" in body length and roughly 1/8" on the sleeves and chest. I compared it to my IHSH-218-BLK (Johnny Cash III) with a tape measure and they are almost identical now with the sleeves of the wabash being about 1/8" longer than the Johnny Cash.
