@GraemeE I've listened to all the 'classics' when it comes to the live shows, and will occasionally stick a random Dick's Picks on, but I'd rather focus on discovering new music the venturing too deeply into the Dead rabbit hole, as much as I love 'em..
Bumping Aoxomoxoa this morning though!

The first time I saw The Greatful Dead was December 1968,it was billed as a battle of the bands,at what at the time,was called the Village Theatre. It would eventually become The Fillmore East. It was Haight Ashbury vs Greenwich Village,with a band, I think called The Take 5,representing The Village. Much to my surprise The Dead had two drummers. They were truly amazing,but I couldn’t stay for their entire set as I had to get back to The Bronx by 12. Would see them many times after that,one of my favorites being when they played for free in Central Park with The Airplane and The Butterfield Blues Band.

There's a special kind of excitement I get for new Tyler, the Creator music. Might not be everyone's jam, but I'm not being hyperbolic when I say I genuinely think he's the best all round 'artist' of my generation.
Everything he's put out over the last 15 years oozes with personality and creativity, and if you can look beyond some of the moral miss-steps and controversies in the early days of his career, I can't think of anyone else in his lane that has had more consistent output over the years, whilst continuing reinvent themselves and evolve artistically.
The teaser alone for the new album blew me away... I hope the man gets into making movies one day as he's stated he's interested in doing.

Was watching a programme on John Farnham last night as I really had no idea who he was and the wife couldn’t believe it
They had this footage of a concert he did overseas for the army and had guests etc
They did this song and to see thousands of troops singing along made me laugh out loud
Never heard of the band or the song before -
Another Phil bit.....
Original
And, what i believe to be, the only time the dead have given consent for an artist to use a sample at the 3:10 mark(feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) - bonus points to animal collective for being able to get a groove feel from on odd time signature

@Matt
Dude it is
another side side story. Like 10-11 yrs ago Morrissey bailed like 2yrs in row playing shoreline amphitheater. A year or 2 later had another show there . Didnt bother getting tix cuz figured bail again(and little broke at the time) and of course played that year. Then he bailed the next night in LA cuz it was too cold outside lol. -
Really enjoying the new album from Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp. Sadly I’ll be working in Germany when they visit London next week, so OTPMD will have to remain on my wish list of bands to see live.
