@long_john86 No plans at the moment, but thats not to say it wont ever be back - or something similar
-
@long_john86 What size are you looking for? Saw an XXXL ODG recently over here in Germany.

Hey All does anyone from the US have a carrier recommendation for international shipping; US to UK?
-
@tody Cheers mate. I have it in an XL but want to size up to XXL. Not bothered about colour. Maybe I should throw this out there on a WTT thread…
-
@flannel-slut ups express saver. DHL is usually cheaper but the documents are not as dummy friendly as UPS. I'm the dummy in this example not you.
-
@CosmoSix5 thank you for the chiming in! And a v valid consideration point in terms of documents
-
@flannel-slut be sure also to use Pirateship. com or another discount site.
-
@flannel-slut I usually do USPS.
-
@ROman thanks! Was thinking USPS for stateside mostly but I’ll try them for a quote too
-
@flannel-slut The only problem I’ve found with USPS on the receiving end is that parcels sometimes drop off if a cliff tracking wise once they reach the UK. ️
-
@flannel-slut fwiw I just used USPS for a return to the UK and it got there pretty quickly and without incident. I don’t think the tracking is as detailed though
-
I appreciate you chiming w your experiences! @SKT @Mister_Brue
-
@flannel-slut Just to add to the above that this is the carrier taking over this end/customs paperwork rather than USPS directly. Parcels tent to cross the pond within the week.

I second Pirate Ship — usually a pretty solid price to get to the UK, similar to IH’s return label shipping, as in around $35. I did have one time where I had to send a package somewhere that was a little more remote than the more typical big city destinations, and iirc it was more like $50. I’ve found that UPS’s paperwork is really easy — just sign the docs and ask the peeps at the UPS store for the international sleeve to stick on the package when you drop it off.
I wonder about tracking with USPS: when I get a package inbound via Royal Mail or Canada Post et al, I follow tracking on their respective sites. Once it crosses over and is handed off to USPS, you can enter the tracking on its site and there it now is. Does this not work when sending a pkg to the UK — has anyone tried entering a USPS tracking number on the Royal Mail site? Worth a shot.

@popvulture I don't know about the UK, but the USPS tracking numbers work for me after it crosses into Canada's system (Canada Post). To date, I've not had any issues tracking.
-
@popvulture In theory, yes. I have found that it is usually Parcel Force that takes over, and you will eventually get a new tracking number for the UK when they have organised the paperwork side of things.
The problem seems to be from a couple of recent experiences that they have not quite grasped the concept of the digital age and still send you a letter to pay customs charges before releasing the parcel.
To cite a recent example, a package was sent from the US East Coast on 11th Oct and left for the UK from NY on 15th. It arrived and departed Heathrow the following day, and has not been seen or heard of since. This can be tracked on the USPS site. The latest Parcel Force update is from the 13th Oct.
A month later I left the country for three weeks, and I can only hope that I have a letter (or two) from Parcel Force waiting for me when I get back, and that they have not returned to sender.
It’s the second time it has happened, but it is all to do with customs.

@Mister_Brue man, fingers crossed it works out! Postal limbo is the worst.

https://parcelsapp.com/ is usually my place to go for tracking. The service is able to get all related tracking number from services to which the parcel is handed over. and also gives an estimate time of arrival, based on other parcels that have been tracked in the same time frame.
