Hi there. I live in Hamburg and would be glad to share some Information on any kind of places worth visiting. If anybody goes there, feel free to PM me as well or hit me up for a meetup.
It is Germany's second largest city, one of the richest, too and lies at the Elbe, so there is a big commercial harbour. The people there are quite elitist, but not unfriendly and are pretty tolerant towards all kinds of folks. There is also a strong left wing scene, occupying houses and stuff.
First, the clothing stores:- Red Wing Store Hamburg: best selection, great people, interesting store. They also stock some Japan exclusive models, Filson, Stetson, Schiesser Revival and good whisky. http://redwing-berlin.de/
-
Feldenkirchen: a fashion oriented denim shop, stocking LVC and, if you're lucky, you can grab strongholds for 90€, leftovers from the Speakeasy denim bar. http://www.feldenkirchen.com/
-
Riders Room: Red Wing, Aeroleather, Pike Brothers, Dickies Work clothing, Carharrt work clothing, etc. http://ridersroom.de/
The Record stores:
-
A must see is the Burnout Record Store: Best selection in tasteful music - hardcore, punk, indie, rock'n'roll, country, metal only, mostly vinyl and a huge carrera track. http://www.burnoutrecords.de/html/frameset.html
-
Hanseplatte: not many records, but rare ones from local bands like slime, grand griffon, Oma Hans, Escapado, the Hamburger Schule and Hip Hop Stuff.
-
Slam Records / Schanze: good chance to grab second hand stuff, from old to spanking new.
-
Zardoz: mostly indie, but many vinyl and loads of old singles. DVDs and books as well.
The whisky stores:
-
Getränke Wolf / Schanze: best prices, all basic stuff (all scottish destilleries, but not above 100€)
-
Whisky Depot: best selection, but slightly more expensive
-
Destille: little bottles, but open whiskies.
The Food:
-
best turkish food: Köz Urfa, directly at the Bahnhof Altona (and 1 min from my home. Hit me up if you go there). A real restaurant with stone oven and the most delicious food and free tea. Mostly only turkish customer, which says it all.
-
nice outlook over the Elbe: Strandperle & Altes Lotsenhaus.
-
best restaurant (for those who can afford): Röpershof. Creative high class food in an old horse stable.

-
King Calavera: Metal, Punk, Indie until the early morning
-
Headcrash: Emo, Metal, modern hardcore
-
Hafenklang: best hc shows, and the Punkerstammtisch
Guess who can be spotted in the crowd

Max, AMAZING stuff. Thank you so much for the massive contribution. Looks like this is your thread!

Give that old man a kiss and a punch in the dick for me.
-
Will do
-
I didn't, but it was a splendid evening. Met lots of interesting people there. My favorite guy was a steelworker who lived in England for 26 years before returning to Hamburg. Hobbies: speedtrack and music. Will see if I can get some pics from almostnice.

Well, I saw a girl that would match the description. She had a young guy with long hair at her side. Didn't talk to them, though.
-
just a question, but was there a couple (she blond with nerd glasses!) representing a brand called "Ehinger Craftrad" ?
Finn … I think you mean this girl ... right
-
added some more pix to the locations

Thanks for reading! And hit me up once you're there.
