Lucchese

Wow those are pretty
I have two pairs of the Mister Lou in horsehide and really love WESCO. I think they make some of the best engineer boots for the money. I actually liked them better than the Mister Freedom boots I had which I ended up selling. My main brand is Lucchese, who makes some nice boots and their Black Cherry is the best.

How is the quality/ finish? I have been to the Lucchese boot store in the gulch and left feeling a little underwhelmed with the product and service.
-
I can’t say anything negative, although I know of some people saying that the quality is not anymore what it used to be...
Mine are from the classic handmade line which is the higher line of boots, built in 2011. Stitchings, lining, finish looks all great to me. The ultra belly caiman is super soft, yet durable. -
Mine are also from the handmade line. Lemon wood pegs, and a whole bunch of details I can't remember. I do remember that I got them at the now defunct J. Gilbert Footwear in Tucson, AZ almost exactly a decade ago. They were a special make-up for the store, and have gorgeous details and a perfect selection of smooth and rough-out leathers. I dug them out of my closet to take a pic for you all.

@Anesthetist The quality and finish are top-notch on mine. Since I bought them at a boutique dealer, my buying experience was superb, and I'm so glad to have these gorgeous boots. So if you're looking for a unique pair, you might have better luck going through one of their dealers for a better experience all around.
Edited to add: They're so damn comfortable. They're like slippers. I should bust them out and wear them again, but I'm currently beating the crap out of my new Mister Lous.

@seawolf Can you inform of your Lucchesse size versus your Wesco Mr. Lous sizing and possibly versus your Brannock size as comparison? Also, do you know if that is a certain Luchesse last or if they all utilize the same last? Thanks in advance!
-
@Dmart Tell me about it! Luckily, I've pared my boot collection down to two pairs of Mister Lou (one brown, one black), a pair of Truman Java Waxed Flesh, and my Lucchese rough-outs.
@John-Galt I generally wear 11.5D, and my Mister Lous are 11.5E. The Luccheses are 11.5D. The only differences I know about the last come down to the shape of the toe. I'm really not a cowboy boot expert at all. @jdl1279 might be able to help out, or maybe @Chris ?

@seawolf Thanks for the feedback, greatly appreciated. I wear a 9E in the Mr Lou’s so based on your sizing I should be a 9D in the Luchesse. Thanks again!
-
@dmart Thanks for the feedback - thus I’ll play it safe and go in between with a 9.5D as my initial Luchesse order. Thanks again! John

@John-Galt Great, I hope they fit and of course please post some pics once they are with you.
