Sly & Robbie X Iron Heart collab "Iron Heart Riddim by Sly & Robbie"
-
Hi
I had mentioned previously that Sly & Robbie were big fans of the Iron Heart brand and during our recent gigs in Tokyo, they met with Haraki.
It was cool and deadly, to say the least: the hardest rhythm section in history meeting the hardest denim maker.
After returning to Jamaica, Sly & Robbie went straight to the studio and recorded a couple of hard and heavy beats, sent those to Haraki so he could chose his favorite one to represent the alliance between Iron Heart and Sly & Robbie.
Here is the one Haraki picked. When Haraki listened the riddim, it made him picture a Rider wearing Iron Heart riding his Harley at full throttle around Tokyo in the night…

Now if there is any one of you wanting to rap on top of the beat, let me know!
PS = is there a way to insert the souncloud file inside the comment (like youtube videos) rather than having to go to the soundcloud site from the link?

This is so cool! Yes, Sly & Robbie are the "hardest rhythm section in history"! My idols. Black Uhuru was and still is one of our (the band's) influences till this day. By the way, we are opening up for the "Mighty Diamonds" tonight…. can't wait!

thanks.
Im playing the first song (top left in the music page of your site), nice voice and super horn section.
where are you based? and what do you play Pete?

you're right, I rushed to ask questions before going thru the website.

gbougard, you should PM Pete about getting Native Elements to collab with Sly and Robbie over the Riddim that Haraki-San chose. Now that would be an IH collab for the ages!

Epic idea
Thanks, I try. I know a majority of the guys in the band and am pretty sure it would blow their minds to have the opportunity. That and Native Elements are the best Reggae band in the Bay Area by far.

This morning, I thought of something in that vein, but gave up on the idea because I did not feel it would be right for a group (by essence a tight formation with a history together) to let go their riddim section to "make room" for S&R. Kinda disrespectful if you see what I mean.
Another idea would be to create a Iron Heart compilation. I think there is a couple of other musicians / artists in this forum, and we could put together an EP-worth of tracks in honor of IH.
