@FlavourFade dang, pretty rad they do the resole on a new pair before shipping! did i understand that right?
That about how far I am into my new pair of unmodded 875. It gets me every time how much a new pair sucks for my feet lol. These are feeling better already but they def made me realize there's something wrong with my big toe hahaha, little thing called a 'pinch callus' always gets buggered with a new pair.
-
@WhiskeySandwich exactly! I asked for the resole on a new pair because I like the look of the mocs and wanted a pair of 875s for a long time, but I work in a place where we got tiles everywhere and the wedge soles are just too slippery.
After wearing a lot of other brands the last years I realised that these really need a break in but they are way more comfortable then I imagined.

Surprised there wasn’t more hype about this — I actually just luckily saw an IG ad — but Beckmans are back in the US and specifically there is a limited run (apparently the one and only) of black Klondike flatbox. I snagged a pair from the Stockist, who amazingly had a 13. If you’ve been drooling over all those Japanese IG pics for years like I have, now is your chance!
-
@popvulture the 9060 or ?
-
@PJ yep 9060
-
@popvulture the 9060s are great boots! Only sold them because I sized slightly too small.
-
@FlavourFade yeah they seem to be some of the coolest teacore aging I’ve seen. I got a 13 because my 12 Iron Rangers really probably should’ve been as such — they’re wearable but my toes are like RIGHT at the end. Hoping sizing between the two is similar.
-
I felt like mine should have been have size up from my IRs because they felt a little more narrow, but heard that a lot of guys size similar to their Iron Rangers. Hope you did the right thing!!
-
@popvulture awesome boots. Had mine for a year now. Worn a lot. Went tts.
-
I’m guessing they should be good, only thing I’d worry about really would be potential narrowness. Fingers crossed!
-
@popvulture dude I’m just now seeing this! Give us a full report when they arrive please…they look so cool
-
so, i may be stupid - but these 'new' release US beckmans in black excalibur (vs klondike) are NOT the 9060 'flatbox', right? their code is 9423 and i take it they're the same thing with the exception of having a structured toebox and different leather?
-
-
@WhiskeySandwich yep they’re different, I guess like a “standard” Beckman. Structured toe, appears to be a lighter, maybe just natural welt vs the one on the Flatbox being dyed a bit darker brown.
If you’re looking for a pair of the Flatbox by chance, I’ve seen them at thestockistshop.com and revolvrmens.com. Appears SOP did a preorder and is all sold out. Probably available elsewhere too.
-
I saw them at Limbro denim from indonesia as well, write then they ship international.
Still in love with my 875s can't believe I never had some in the years of being into Red Wing
Maybe my favourite pair of boots
-
@FlavourFade 875 has always seemed like the most* red wing boot of all to me. Glad I finally got a pair. I always thought wrong about the oro-legacy, it’s def a great leather. Mines picking up so much color already and losing it too. Like the orangeyness is lessening into a sandy color yet darkening in other spots. Man I swear I never want to break in another pair of boots tho. Bunion city lol
-
@WhiskeySandwich oro-legacy is amazing! Love how it looks different everytime the light changes or from just a different angle. It will develop a great patina.

Prairie black Blacksmiths on the beach of Monterosso from our visit to the wonderful Cinque Terre area this weekend. 20+ degrees in October. Perfect for eating ice cream and wearing 21 oz 666s.
Being just a couple months old no patina started showing… but they’re such gorgeous boots.
