Our Cars (dream or actual)

My treasured Defender was sold off today. Owned since 1999 and passing it on with 250k km on it. Largely troublefree, a solid machine. I will miss it but I have increasingly less use for it and I’m definitely not a good collector. I got asking price for it and it sold within 18 hours after posted in Marketplace!
This is the new owner, he was happy. Originally from Hong Kong, loves british built machines, especially Austin Coopers. He’ll probably look after it better than I did.

Went to the park to swim and there was an Italian exotic car show at the same park.
Ok so not Italian but its inspiration has a history impacting Italian motorsport
Some highlights from Alfa
Lamborghini. Don’t much care for them so this is all ya get
Here comes Ferrari
Best in show (they got it right):
And a ton of Detomaso

@mclaincausey Nice cars... It's pretty unfortunate (or maybe fortunate for my wallet) that I don't fit into a Pantera. Same with the GT40, haven't tried taking a seat in a Ferrari, though.
-
My favorite car on site was a beautiful 1995 Land Rover Defender with the turbo diesel that wasn’t part of the show (but did have a for sale tag!) I need a car that can handle adventure off-road. And to be practical can haul a family and gear.
But Italian sportscars were an area of obsession as a young lad. The F40 was peak emotion for me in that regard.
These days I admire Porsche most in the sports car realm.
-
@mclaincausey Yeah, the F40 is indeed something special. I can remember vividly seeing one for the first time in Pisa, Italy as a young lad...
-
way off topic, but that's a good looking surf board @WhiskeySandwich
-
@mclaincausey wow, thats a good show! I lived in Monterey for a while and used to see some good ones at Pebble Beach. Your pics took me right back!
Love me a Pantera btw -
@natehate I miss it! That was a Creed. We had a couple of them but let them go after they hung, unused in our garage for a couple years. We mostly stick to the kayaks these days - better for fishing.

My 1929 Model A Pickup -
@oldsoulguy56 I spy some serious rubber in the back... Can you elaborate on the build?
-
@tody it was a nut and bolt rebuild. It’s powered by a small block chevy.
-
@oldsoulguy56 we are gonna need more pics of that machine
-
-
Tease.
Beautiful machine.
-
@oldsoulguy56 very cool
-
@mclaincausey thank you
-
@SKT thank you

I may or may not have made a huge mistake but I've got a lifted Cayenne Diesel inbound from LA which should arrive on Monday. Pictures incoming.
Also, @Matt, trucks are stupid expensive right now, I never thought I'd see that day where 1/2 ton trucks are $80k but here we are. Prices are coming down but I expect them to be ridiculous for at least another year. You can see that some dealers are hurting with inventory sitting on the lot but most haven't accepted that the COVID price gouging party is over.
-
@Clint_D that looks like a fun mistake!
-
Cayenne looks great
