Viberg

Found them here:

But I guess you could always drop those guys at Viberg an email and they'll be happy to make a custom boot just like that. Probably cheaper too.

Might be best to ask Viberg directly; you can email them at
inquiries@workboot.comAlthough I seem to recall that they're a bit slow to answer emails, so it might work better for you to pick up the phone and give them a call-
1-800-663-6388They'd probably be willing to discuss any sizing concerns you might have.

i always thought Viberg sizes were based off UK sizing charts? just to add to the conversation my bobcats are an 8.5, and i could have gone down to a 8 and still have plenty of room for thick socks.
giving them a call (per chris' recommendation) seems like the best bet on getting sizing taken care of as with most things everyone has an experience that varies

Thanks guys, i've heard different opinions about it.
My red Wings are us9.5 and they fit roomy enough to use a insole, a thing that i like. I can fit a 9 for sure, but after a few hours walking, they would hurt my feet.
If RW are equal sized as Viberg, then the problem is solved. But judging by the post here, it seems that Viberg fits a bit larger than RW. Question is, more than half size? I guess also another variant would be the difference between models. Bobcats seems to fit larger than Scouts, for what i've red, right? Then, how is the sizing and fit in the Service Boot last?
Probably would be wise to shoot Viberg Customer Service an email, but i consider wiser ask IH forum fellows their experiences with different brands on the field. -
Viberg 7 = RW US7.5/UK6.5
Works for me…I agree with this…I'm 9D in Red Wings and took 8.5 in 4H Viberg.
Be aware though that the break in procedure for these boots will take time.
These boots are built tough and the heel/ankle support is like steel.
After a few wears, the boots should mold to your feet.I made a mistake of walking in them around the city when I first got them and it almost amputated my ankle.

[/quote]and what is your size in RW?

8.5 US enough room for heavy socks & all that good stuff. . . but why not contact the folks at Viberg.
i'm sure tehy heard it all before

I do exactly what you intend to do with 4H Vibergs.
I currently use half insole (orthopedic ones) and still plenty of room for medium/thick socks.
Don't recommend wearing thin socks with these boots.Recently, I had a cobbler apply a thin layer of leather on the inside of the left boot to help with the fit.
It alleviated some of the heel "pinching" that I felt and the boots are much more comfortable now and good for walking again. The cobbler was actually amazed on the quality of the boots and he's familiar with Vibergs.I'll post pics sometime this weekend. Overall, I think you'll be fine with sizing half size down from your RW size.
Watch out though for the 10 weeks waiting period… BUT...it's truly worth every penny.
