IH-526Jod - Overdyed Type III
-
will there be any modified versions of this with the hand pockets?
-
Right @Giles, let's be clear. I want this jacket, I will have this jacket.Pennies are saved, northern Norway is getting warmer and I'm excited.
I have never worn or owned a type III, nor any other denim jacket, in my life so I have no point of reference here at all.The plan is, I'm going to throw a load of factoids at you and you'll come up with the perfect size for me, then I'll give you loads of cash. Deal?
- I'm 6' and weigh about 210lbs.
- IH shirts I own:
IHSH-95 - XXL (hot washed and tumble dried for the best fit).
IHSH-64 - XL (comfortable fit over a tee or henley)
IHSH-106 - XXL (layered over a tee or henley would have to size up to layer as a true sjacket)
IHSH-67 - XL (I could have got away with a L here because I wear it alone without a tee) - I'm usually one size bigger that you in shirts
- I'd like to wear this with a tee, henley or thinner shirt under, not double layered.
- I'm looking for a traditional type III fit (assuming I understand what that is correctly)
Based on all this, having read the forum posts thoroughly, and site measurements I'm thinking an XXL. But I'm worried I'm missing something (it's thick, heavy fabric, I've no idea about how it'll feel on, will I be able to button it and so forth…).
Now do your magic and I'll be eternally grateful.
-
@Giles Can you wear a L in the type III od or too small? Cheers.
-
…will I be able to button it...
You'll need to put in a bit of effort, expect sore fingertips in the beginning

This bad boy is arriving today… before I start wearing it with white t-shirts, can anyone tell me what the bleed is like, or does over-dyeing kill that?
I can only safely vouch for my experience but my IH 526Jod did not bleed on my white Tees at all. I would give the jacket a good rub and see what colour your hands go just to be on the safe side… [emoji6]

Thanks for that @Black Orchid . Just put my hands on it so quick and dirty fit pic while I'm at it. I'm happy to say, it looks better in real life.
