This happens to some people with any jean they wear. It is a function of the shape of your upper thighs, personally I can wear a jean for 2 years and this does not happen to me (and I am seriously hard on my jeans), but on other people they can blow the crotch in weeks. If your upper thighs rub together when you walk, this will happen. Only thing you can do is regular remedial maintenance….
-
G when you say regular remedial maintainence do you mean patching it up and getting it repaired before a hole appears? so its actually quite normal and there's nothing to worry about other than sending it for repairs regularly?
-
i hate you…and i really can´t wait to see what you´re gonna do to the black duck! daaaaaaaamn...
hehe, this needs one to two years, I guess. with a closer look at the fabric of that jacket (checked out single yarn at the cut at buttonholes) , it will fade beautiful, thats for sure!

I'll confirm that; every pair of jeans I've ever owned wears through in the exact same spot (just to the right of where all four seams come together). My Samurais only took a couple of weeks to start falling apart. Only solution is to monitor regularly and aggressively repair. As Benjamin Franklin once said, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

Try and get it sewn and maybe patched before it gets too bad, the boys at The Tuck Shop will be able to advise/help/sort….
will swing by tuckshop soon i guess. thanks for the advice G and cris.

@CLJ:
I'm noticing that happening on my 634s.
It appears the skinny-legged have the advantage over us tree-trunk legged fellows in this instance.
Just part of the patina baby.
agree mate. just gotta live with it. a crotch blow is also unique actually. a story to tell on our jeans. hahaha!
-
I have really muscular thighs and this happens to me all the time. My suggestion is just to have it reenforced early. And if holes form (this also happens to me) get them reenforced too. Otherwise you will end up with a huge hole!
-
Happened to mine too - was a 5 minute repair job by the excellent SENY repair person.
