Thorogood

Hi!
Just recently found this brand, seems really nice, and a lot cheaper than RW.
Can anyone tell me about these two models, are they built the same, same colors irl (the first seems darker to me) I prefer the first one but harder to come across, I live in Sweden and searching for any store that ship international for a good price.. Do you know any?

Hey lalle81!
They look to be the same to me, just a bit shorter. The darker one could just be the lighting n the pic. They do make this style in a darker brown as well.
Try these guys, www.workingperson.com
I bought my Thorogoods through them and they were great to deal with, they also do international shipping, here is a link to their shipping info page http://workingperson.com/international-orders. They have a Swedish phone support number as well. You should be able to get what you need.
Hope it helps, and good luck -
Lalle, Check out also Amazon.com. Sometimes good deals there. 8" height is like combat boot, 6" is ankle height.
your pic shows 6"

I said I'd spare ya'll an image of my "daily drivers" in the footwear care thread but I guess I feel compelled to point out how for the price point, Thorogoods are by far the best boot out there. Better than any RW, Chippewa or Carolina. I also understand that this forum tends to lean towards the aesthetics and maybe not every boot out there is put to its full test. I know the Thorogood styles are few and there are not a lot of lug sole options (that's why rod busters and iron workers prefer them). I put on 5-7 miles every day on mine and considering the action and elements they see, I'm amazed that I can get a year and a half out of a pair. The break-in time is almost nothing and I’ve had them resoled up to two times. Now I just wear my Red Wings for gardening. For a union made American boot under $150, why wouldn’t you own three pairs?

Absolutely agree.

the new 1892 line looks interesting

Just recieved my 8" moc toes today, first pair of Thorogoods for me, superb boots!
Info that might be of use for the uk guys. I take a uk 10 in most shoes Adidas, nike, etc in Redwings I went for a US 10 (UK 9) and did the same for the Thorogoods. Straight out of the box they are a better fit than the Redwings (which I find a little wide) the leather is more pliable as is the sole.
I ordered these through Amazon, the order was place on Tuesday night and they arrived today Thursday (not even 2 days) shipped from the US total price with shipping and import duty was £155 that's £100 cheaper than the equivilant Redwing and I have to say I can't see where that extra 100 would go.
The only thing I don't like and I'm being picky here is the great big 'Made in the US' flag on the side, I might have to get the scalpel out.

Nice. I'd cut off that awful tag, too. Terrible placement.

Just saw these: http://www.lapolicegear.com/thco3midcut.html
(Thorogood Code 3 Mid Cut)
They appear to be American made sneakers. Didn’t know that even existed outside of NB. Has anyone tried these; are they any good? -

No no … the 'murican flag must stay there otherwise people think you're wearing flimsy redwings

Deep breath, knife out…...... and the tags are gone. I think it was unnecessary and cheapened the boot.
Good call.
