I quit on ordering at least 3 times an item since the change because it would be to expensive or can‘t find the Product at EU retailers after browsing 5-6 shitty Websites to find it. Nobody offers the full range (understandable) and it‘s a pain in the a* to find it.
And especially for Bottoms are additional costs if you want them hemmed. Shipping from retailer, shipping to hemming service and back, hemming service. Extra of 50-60€ min. And after all a much longer waiting time before I can have the pants on my legs.
This is what the great IH customer service was all about in the past for me. Seeing the product in the shop, knowing the price, ordering by click, two days later seeing a brown truck with a brown man handing me over a blue bag. Perfect.Simply wonderful to order from IH Hamburg, and good.

Does anyone know what the options are for shipping a high value item from the EU (Germany specifically) to the US?
If the sender (a non business normal citizen) claims the item as $800 will it pass through untaxed similar to an IH delivery?
They are brand new boots with all the new boots goodies. Want to make sure things go smoothly. Thanks in advance for the advice. -
@Giles Just curious: Does the same apply the other way around for shipments from the USA to the EU? If I were to order White's boots for under $800 + shipping, for example?

Nope. Everything is hit by 19% tax, and everything above 150€ by duties, too.

I wish that UPS would change their shipping partner her in Oz it gets passed onto what has to be the worst courier company ever, faked deliveries no way to contact them it’s a Russian roulette once it gets into Australia really, nothing that IHUK can do about it I know just having a shipping rant

Just thought there would be some type of a special or temporary trade deal between the US and the EU as is the case for Japan-EU, for example since it doesn't sound very fair that one side allows up to $800 tax-free import, but the other doesn't. While I of course have the ability to read general laws and rules on the internet and find out by a quick internet search, it's always good to know how it works in reality/praxis, since, as was also mentioned above, some customs fees seem to be interpreted differently sometimes by different customs people.

I am very happy with the UPS deliveries I had so far from the UK to DK. Last one arrived just yesterday, only one day after sending them from the UK, even during a snowstorm. The only annoying thing is the vague and often overoptimistic UPS delivery timing estimate (for the delivery day) that sometimes means that I work from home to be able to sign for the delivery, only for it to be moved 3x, and then finally to the next day.

Worldwide £136 no more than that or paid Taxes
When U.K was part of EU free movement
No taxes to be paid.
Outside EU was the limit of £15
Still sucks

Maybe I’m chiming in with unnecessary feedback and I haven’t scrolled through the entire thread. That said, I’ve been so impressed by the customer service at Iron Heart and shipping is part of that.
I can order a product on a Monday and receive it on a Wed/Thursday in Canada the same week. Duties and tax included, no hassle with customs clearance and carriers calling for clearance etc.
I’ve dealt with many different online retailers, and it seems that I’m always surprised with last minute fees or requests for package clearance information … not with Iron Heart. Honestly, it’s one of the biggest draws for me (notwithstanding I love your clothing).
Keep up the excellent work!

First I'll ditto the comments on IH exemplary customer service. I was actually waiting till the delivery showed up this week before posting something since I felt my requests/stacking directions were way more than usual. Also an early kudos on what is probably another stellar pocket repair!
Unfortunately I'm having a UPS issue and found my way to this thread. I didn't release the signature requirements, but I did request from UPS the delivery reschedule for when I was home. Original delivery was Monday, and rescheduled for Wednesday. Tracking shows no updates from the last few days. I called UPS help. The trick is to say "complaint" at every auto-prompt to actually get to speak to someone. They said tracking shows the package at their hub and I should submit a claim. Is it preferred that IHUK submit a claim as the shipper? It looks like I can as the receiver but not sure if there is anything to gain or lose if I do it.
-
It hasnt been delivered. The package is a new order along with a repair on my UHRs. UPS said to submit a claim as a loss through their claims support site. Using UPS tracking it appears to just be sitting at some UPS facility without any attempt at delivery and has been that way all week.

@wk The guys check in occasionally during the weekends, and I’m sure someone will get in touch with you when they can. You may want to send an email to the shop: shop@ironheart.co.uk to explain your situation and to see if there is anything that can be done and by whom.
