I haven’t seen the play but there is absolutely no shame in enjoying it or the movie and I’m looking forward to them. I do love the old Wizard of Oz movie.
We saw Moana 2 for my daughter’s first cinema experience. The music was a major step down and the writing and plot were an even bigger step down. Good enough for kids but not something I’d want to rewatch as I have the first one.

@mclaincausey I agree, no shame whatsoever, it was a great movie!
That's too bad about Moana 2, there was a line out the door yesterday for that movie. The first one was so good!
-
@Oaktavia the composer of the songs in the first one didn’t do this one and it shows.
Don’t get me wrong, it was enjoyable in the moment but in hindsight the story to some extent seemed like a rehashing of the first movie and there needed to be more exposition and motivation for the villain IMO.

I rewatched Wayne's World yesterday, as it's been more than two decades since I've seen it. It was highly quotable, but it didn't hold up all that well. I'm not surprised but I'm a little sad. Don't be like me. Let the old movies that were iconic parts of your youth stay as memories.

@Tago-Mago words to live by. Thanks bud!

@seawolf sage advice. Watched Revenge of the Nerds a few years ago and the rape scene just hits different now.
(Though the talent show scene still works.)
-
@mclaincausey Probably best to leave the old movies alone and let them live in a happy place in our memories. Last year, my wife wanted to watch some classic Christmas movie she'd never seen, and we shut it off when they busted out the blackface.

I think the same thing when I see the Capital One commercial with Sat Night Fever Santa. I’m not sure the director watched the whole movie.

James Hood's Beautifica 360, holy shit that was a trip and I wasn't even under the influence of anything. Talk about an immersive experience. I hear Mesmerica is just as cool. I totally recommend checking it out.

@WhiskeySandwich looks really neat. What kind of theater do you view this in and how long was the running time?
-
@flannel-slut its super neato. about 45 minutes. I think its only shown in modern planetariums. Thats the kicker. Theres no story or anything, its just an audio/video experience like nothing else. The visuals fill your entire field of vision so it's like VR without a headset. It's intense enough to be a bit disorienting if you get motion sickness. I just thought it was fun tho.

@WhiskeySandwich looks like a great to do w the fam over Xmas break. Looking into it
-
@flannel-slut hell yea, lemme know if so- how it goes

@WhiskeySandwich looks so cool. Closest I could find to us would be Tulsa. Would love to see this. Thanks for the heads up
