@jiminstitches continuing the Australian theme have you watched Wilfred? IMO probably one of the most underrated series - the US version has Elijah Wood and it is darkly hilarious (the trailer is a bit shit:
) -
@Inorganic wow, haven't thought about Wilfred in years! Going to give it a rewatch.
-
I just started watching from the beginning last week — loving it so far. Got some catching up to do!
-
@MQR - Nava Mau (Toni) is an another interesting individual who has lived their character, which adds yet another level of reality to the BR story telling.
-
@Nocturama ah i see, well that explains the amazing overall of the show
-
@sabergirl my wife and I both loved seasons 1 & 2 of Hacks. Looking forward to this season now
-
Mrs H and I started Shogun last night. First episode was great, looking forward to the rest, heard nothing but praise.
-
@Giles - Blue lights is fantastic, enjoyed every second of it.
-
@EdH Ah dude Shogun was so awesome! Im gonna re-watch it at some point. Im 6 episode into Sugar with Colin Farrell and im really enjoying it, its kinda a cool mix of influences from Sin City, Hitchcock and Mrs MarpleDefinitely worth checking out!

I saw @Alex watching series 1 of Tokyo Vice (BBC iPlayer) on a trip to Japan a couple of years ago. I watched it in one hit on the way back and loved it. Series 2 is out, but @Madame-Buttonfly had not seen S1, so we watched it together at the weekend (I am glad I did because I had forgotten loads), we are now halfway through S2 and it is brilliant....

@Giles It’s amazing how they get everything in camera to be of the era - great series
-
I really need to watch that.
Having read both the 3 Body Problem trilogy and now Dark Matter, I’ve started those shows on Netflix and Apple TV, respectively.
I think I’m going to struggle with the former (I already had concerns after reading the books that a series could do it justice, and then to discover that they’ve changed the ethnicity and nationality of one of my favorite characters in recent memory from Chinese to American bothered me too).
Dark Matter was an excellent and speedy read that was almost like a screenplay already, and so far the adaptation is quite promising. That one will be harder to screw up, especially with the cast and production attached to it.
We need to complete Shōgun as well. It was gaining a lot of momentum when life interfered.

This is one from 2015 but my wife and I loved it. It’s called Patriot and we watched on Amazon. There are two seasons and they were great. I thought it was really funny but also just sort of a feel good show.
