Totally agree a perfect shirt with the perfect fit. I love it every time I wear it.
-
Given all the delayed love this shirt has received on its thread the last week, I nominate the Burgundy IHSH-156
IHSH-156 - Burgundy or Charcoal Ultra Heavy Plain Flannel Western

Actually I'm just about to sell mine. I love it but need a new buggy for the lil one.
-
On a more serious notice, how much do they usually go for anyway?
You mean the shirt or the buggy? Buggys are horrendous. You good buy three pairs of IH jeans or some serious GAH for that money.
As for the UHF it is difficult to say. They seller decides the price and the market decides if it is acceptable. Secondhand, used UHF’s go for anywhere from 150USD to 250USD, more if it is bnwt.
-
I second the vote for the 156. I effin’ love mine.

I volunteered to chip in for the buggy my parents bought my brother a couple of years ago following the birth of his daughter.
I opted to get him something else when they told me it was about 500 quid
-
Could anyone help me ID these?
The seller (located in Malaysia) says they are black. It looks like there might be indigo peeking through? but that could be caused by improper white balance on the camera.

Hmmmm…. the patch and tab put them pre-lawsuit which was in 2007. I don’t know how many cuts were being done before 2007 but I don’t think there was much other than the 634.
I din’t think they are Od’ed because of the tonal stitching. Overdyeing doesn’t penetrate polycotton and the stitching doesn’t go completely black. That suggests it is SBG but again I’m not sure SBG was even a thing pre lawsuit. It certainly looks more like SBG than OD.
I’d say they are either a very rare pair of jeans or they are a fake.
@Giles may be able to shed more light on this.
-
Pre-lawsuit? What was that about, any link to the matter I can read up on?
-
My intal thought is they are fake. They aren'd overdyed, as @neph93 stated, and they don't look like the SBG. If they are real, though, they have to be pre-lawsuit. But wouldn't they have different arches?

@BULLITT BEE "back in the day," Levis sued a bunch of Japanese brands (and some from North American, I think) because their designs, as they argued, "borrowed" a bit too much. I found this for you. It doesn't have much info on it, but I'm sure @neph93 or @Giles knows of a better article. It's a bunch of bs IMO, but an interesting part of denim history.

Didn't know that! Very interesting, thanks for sharing!

Google «Levi’s lawsuit 2007» and you’ll get the idea, but @Wlemon sums it up nicely. I’ve heard so many funny stories about that time. Guys pulling all nighters at SE to stitch rip arctuates, draws full of little red pocket tabs.
Whatever your opinion of Levi’s or your attitude to intellectual property, it was a shitshow for Levi’s in the end. The Japanese denim brands worshipped Levi’s. They were the reason Japanese denim existed. Two IH cuts are directly «inspired» by specific Levi’s models. The use of Levi’s arcs, pocket tabs and the patch references are pure homage. And Levi’s come along and fuck them. It’s like The Rolling Stones suing bar bands for playing Brown Sugar.
The real kicker for Levi’s is that it forced the Japanese brands to focus on their own branding and identity, thus becoming a much more viable propostion in the global market place. The free advertising Levi’s gave them didn’t hurt either [emoji1]
Giles was there for all of it and has some stories. Of course he can’t tell them because every time he does Levi’s put a horses head in his bed [emoji23]

Looks like super black 21oz denim, to me. But I don’t know if that was produced pre-lawsuit. I think my 9301 from c. 2009…
Wasn’t there a period where the faux Levi’s branding was still available in Japan but not in the ROW? But you’re spot on, it does look like SB. That would make sense with the dyed black patch and murdered out arcs too.
EDIT: hard to say from the pics, but these jeans have .jp/IHUK arcs, not SE arcs, and the 9301 was SE exclusive.

Brilliant! I'd love to hear some stories when the day comes that I can join for a meet-up at Gosport!

It focussed attention on us from people who had never heard of Iron Heart or Japanese denim. It was exactly the publicity we needed at the time, and was the first step-change in demand for our business….
Thanks you stupid corporate fuckers...
And in all probability those are IH-9634 - Superblack non-selvedge 21 oz
Here's another early pair...
