The endoscopy went well and I got the call this morning saying I can bring Carl home!! Beyond relieved to have him back with me. No lymphoma so that is incredible news. No explanation for the enlarged spleen. Guess that’s something we’ll need to keep an eye on moving forward.
He seems really tired and is resting. I know I’m tired as hell myself.
Driving home!!

@Mizmazzle love those smiles and it sounds like a good outcome. I guess I’d feel tired if someone had been rummaging around inside me!

Maybe I’ve overshared a bit. Sometimes the forum meets the need of just venting into the ether!
I Suppose these are disturbing and grotesque costs and lengths we go to for this mutt we love so much.
But, pet insurance + no kids + profound loyalty = a dog that gets the best I have to offer.
Granted, if the care I can give him leads to a healthy future, not just dragging out his life for my own selfishness.
I totally agree.

@Matt is this true story?? I thought the Pit Bull genes would send her straight into defense mode??
My buddy has an African Boerboel. This thing is freaking massive and more than a little intimidating. I stopped letting Carl play with him when they were both 7 months old. That dog attacked the sprinkler guy at my buddies house yesterday. Guess he opened the door somehow, rushed out into the yard and ripped him up pretty good. My buddy spent the whole day in the ER with the dude. 9 bites and some seriously opened up flesh. Brutal.

The one that got me was a neighbors pit. I don’t know its history but the neighbor is a dick so I can guess. We’ve had Ava since she was 6 mo so she’s been showered with love, attention and treats every day for her whole life. She thinks of us as her family, not her masters. I’ve got no complaints. I didn’t invite an 80 lb animal to come live with me just so I could treat it like shit. I don’t get people.
