IH-527J - 21oz Denim Rider's Jacket - Indigo
-
Sizing issue:
The other day I decided that owning a good fitting IH-527J would be a good idea and discussed the matter with my local dealer.
IH-9527J was physically available for fitting and it was determined that size 40/L was the right size to go for (as IH Japan size tables were indicating the same measurements for both version - I was told).
An order was placed with IH Japan.A few weeks later said jacket did arrive and I tried it on in the store. Only to find out that the chest and length measurements did differ for the same tagged sizes (and the official Japan size charts). It looked like IH-527J is half a size bigger in circumference and 1 size longer in length and sleeves.
Not sure if the reference jacket (IH-9537J) was off or the new batch is off, but since it also differed from the official chart we did inquire with IH Japan and now have ordered a size 38/M (hoping that this will produce the desired results/fit).
(I also noticed that the sizing charts for IH-527J and IH-9527J on IH UK are both labeled as IH-9527J and do differ from each other…) -
I actually noticed the same thing when I tried on a large 9527, which was much tighter than the large 527. I thought it was the difference in the denim/dye.

Batch size variations and tolerances are a reality. Unfortunately, not every dealer can order every article in every size and thereby eliminating any the risk.
In the end you have rely on IH or the dealer to be as accommodating and flexible as reasonably possible - so far no real issues! -

Could be true for medium sizes as well. Girth and circumference were different between models and production batches. Pretty sure if overdyeing is the case that it has had it fair share here…
