I wear 3x-4x in Iron Heart and 2x in the Townes.

I went by the P2P. With IH, I usually go with medium shirts (CPOs, work shirts, T-shirts) and large UHFs. I went with a medium in the Townes shirt. I even ordered a large later thinking that I should've sized up, but it was too big. This is for wearing over just a T-shirt, mind you.

I think it also depends on which Townes you have… the original unsanforized denim Townes are cut larger than the rest.

Thanks Paul! It‘s the V2 (sanforized) version; as expected almost no shrinkage in this so the measurements given on the website reflect reality.
At least to my experience with the Guthries there are some variations in measurements; my denims came in about half an inch tighter in the butt area compared to the table, the tans were spot on. But as always, these are handcut and -sewn so that‘s ok wirh me.
Back to the shirts. For me, sizing down one compared to IH sizing works pretty fine and still leaves a bit more room to move around. In addition, the SJ shirts are cut longer in the body than IH which in sum makes a great work shirt! -

Anyone own a tan waxed Townes and an IHSH-33? I wear an L in my 33 and 33-t.
Medium Townes would be perfect for P2P, but I'm worried about that shoulder measurement of 17". I like my shoulders to be at least 18". Seems like a lot of guys with different builds are able to fit into the Townes just fine, though, so I wanted to see if anyone owned both and could compare.
