@team
Need a 31 , any plans for restock here ? -
Ok Giles , thank you !

Looking for feedback on sizing in this model. Particularly interested in hearing from anyone wearing a 634S (21) or a 634S-B (21), how does the sizing compare? Neph, if you have the kind of specific feedback re this fabric that you had for the XHS, I'd love to hear it.

Assuming you own the 21oz 634’s you mention, and they fit well, this should be straightforward.
Simply measure the two pairs you own after a period og wear. Find the tagsize on the XHS model that is around the same or up to half an inch smaller in the waist than your worn pair. It will probably be the same tagsize but may be one down.
As for the denim, it is noticeably heavier. Quite stiff when new (also after the soak), but with wear gets very soft. It fades quicker and with higher contrast than the 21oz and has a vertical fading pattern.

What @neph93 said. Also, I wear a tagged 34" in the IH-634S and tagged 33" in the IH-634-XHS.
-
Found a tag 31
so what would you recommend , initial soak before wearing or wear straight out of the box ?? -
Most peeps on here will tell you to go ahead and give em a hot soak before wearing, to get rid of any shrinkage since these are sanforized, but unwashed. FWIW my 666XHS didn't really shrink at all when I washed them, maybe 1/4" in the waist if I remember correctly. But the soak is definitely a good idea bc it'll make sure your creases are in the same places once you wash em.
My XHS was pretty punishing at first, but softened up quickly, especially after I gave em their first wash.
-
ok , and how hot is hot ? 40 degrees celsius or more ?
-
Yes, I would guess so! I did it in the tub so I don't know exactly, but it was with the hot pretty much full on. I believe I've seen @neph93 say 40c as a rec for hot wash but I'll let him confirm.

Depends what you want and how you wash.
Getting shrinkage out is wise so as to avoid unpleasant surprises in the future.
40C will not get all the shrinkage out, but if you never plan on washing at more than that, and you only want a little shrinkage, then a 40C soak will do. Although they will probably shrink a little more with repeated washing.
As a rule of thumb when all the shrinkage is out (60C soak with agitation), and all the stretch from wear is done, they’ll end up a little bigger than they started. Probably half an inch.
-
Ok Reuben, thank you for the info´s
I never washed jeans at 60C , even 40C is very infrequent. Normally I wash them cold or 30C with a special Jeans program (600rpm) my machine has or with the handwash programm with no spin.
This is the first time I have a unwashed pair, so I want to do it right from the start.
I´ll see how they fit when the arrive. Maybe I will contact you again then.
really excited about them, the fades I have seen are amazing -
Ok Reuben, thank you for the info´s
Maybe I will contact you again thenPlease do hit me up here.
At the end of the day, the simplest and best thing to do is to remove all shrinkage. If they don't fit when all shrinkage is out then they were too small to begin with.
On the other hand, if they fit when new and unsoaked then they will fit after shrinkage and stretch has happened.
-
@neph93
Ok, so if I understand correctly. After all, they will end up like they are when new. So it´s important that they
fit out of the box ? right?
I don´t want to make a mistake here cause they´re not the cheapest ones ..
I normally have size 31 in my 634, and I ordered 31 in XHSIB too. Maybe that was a mistake from the beginning and I need a 32 ::) . -
21oz ends up 1-2” bigger at the waist then they started. XHS ends up 0.5-1” bigger, if you get the shrinkage out first.
If you compare, I think you’ll find that XHS jeans often have a slightly bigger starting measurement than 21oz jeans. So I think you’ll be ok. Impossible to say for sure of course.
-
ok , with 0.5-1.0" it should work out fine.
Thank you so much , I was a bit worried -
Gotta say I'm jonesing for a pair of these. I know they're a little ways off and it's going to be a bit too hot for them here over the summer, but I'm wanting these to be my main winter pair.
Also for whatever reason I couldn't get the 634N to work for me, tried two sizes and sent em both back. I really want the 634 to fit, saying a prayer I have better luck with these guys
-
why don’t you wait for the new 634 21oz ib ?
maybe sizing is better for you and more wearable at you weather conditions -
I'd rather have the XHS I think, just prefer the way it fades and its overall crispier texture. To be honest, when it's summer in Austin, 21oz feels just as hot as the XHS. Maybe a little more comfortable but not much.
I do love the 21oz though and am psyched to see how the 21ib fades.
