Matt's New Mexico (Formerly Airstream) Adventure

I really love New Mexico. Thanks for sharing these, it helps to have some things to file away for future visits, @Matt
I'm especially fond of the cuisine and cook it at home from time to time. Carne adobada, green chile, pinto beans, enchiladas, etc.

@mclaincausey be sure to let me know if you do make it into town. That goes for any of you who might be able to grace the Duke City with a visit.

Great updates @Matt ! One of my closest friends lives in Laguna Pueblo which is about 90min or so from ABQ I believe. Keep meaning to go out for a visit - hopefully soon!

Yet another unsolvable mystery of the wild American frontier.
Some fun facts:
-The “sand” is gypsum.
-The animals that live here are the same as those just outside the park but these have all evolved to be white.
-People, on average, eat about 30 ponds of gypsum on a lifetime.
-National Park sand gets all up in your underwear every bit as much as beach sand. -
Man I love the desert. If y’all get up north, we really loved Taos, Cimarron Canyon, and the surrounding areas up there. We went during shoulder season so Taos was quietly beautiful and a great retreat and recharge. Had a northern NM blue corn adobada enchilada that inspires me to this day.
Then, speaking of tunnels, we never got there yet but want to explore Valles Caldera and the Gilman Tunnels. Might be a fun loop for your family to take that route and loop through Santa Fe. Bet the kids (and adult kids) would enjoy the Meow Wolf museum. One is opening here in Denver soon and we can hardly wait!
