Matt's New Mexico (Formerly Airstream) Adventure

We’re in Taos, NM this weekend. It’s a small tourist area about 2 hours from ABQ. The elevation is 2000’ higher. River rafting and skiing are popular here. The JMM Taos (rhymes with mouse) is named after the town since Dennis Hopper famously lived here. Last night we ate at the Taos Mesa Brewery. Excellent vibes, beers and pizza.

Dude, one of my very favorite places. Learned to ski there in ‘79 () and have taken the kids the last two winters. I am with you guys in spirit on this excursion and hope you all have a blast!!
Also, post if you go to Taos Pueblo because we’ve missed it the last couple times and I’m curious what you think. Actually I know you guys have a plan, but I’ve got loads of recommendations if needed.

The Pueblo is the oldest continuously inhabited Pueblo in the US and is a UNESCO World Heritage site so we’ll def go there and get some pics.
Went to the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge today. You know Ed @steelworker will be interested. No wifi now, pics later

Damn that looks delicious.
QFT...and my mouth is watering.

looks like you're on tatooine with the cantina and those houses..

@Matt food looks good but I don't know about the bar-all that sun pouring in, it's not right

Sorry, yes. We actually didn’t make it to the Pueblo. It would have been $100 for the four of us and we weren’t 100% certain the kids wouldn’t get bored and freak out. Next time. We want to go back and stay at The Historic Taos Inn, just Katie and me. We also talked about buying a house there and renting it seasonally. If you ever want to meet up @skt let me know. That would be a great place for a get together.

@Matt Bummer about Pueblo but I can empathize with the kids not enjoying it. We stayed a couple nights at the Historic Taos Inn during our first trip in ‘22 and loved it…would definitely stay again. Last year we stayed in an Airbnb in El Prado just to have a kitchen. Like you guys, we’ve talked (and dreamed) about trying to buy a place there and renting it out. TBD. I can totally see why you guys chose to live in New Mexico…and if we ever get the nerve to relocate it would be at the top of our list. I’ll give you a shout on our next trip. My hope is it becomes an annual thing for us.
