Thanks for pointing out the product specific threads! @T4920
To be honest for the past couple of years I seem to have been on an endless journey searching for the perfect cut for me. For many years I wore ONI and Full Count and whilst I've got an N1 and some shirts, I'd never tried Iron Heart denim for no other reason than my local shop in didn't stock them.
However, it became tricky to get the ONI cuts I liked so I was drawn to IH not only for the quality of the product and their reputation but because of the 'evergreen' lines. So if I get a pair that I love, I know I'll be able to get another pair down the line, or perhaps the same cut in a different denim.
Basically I'm looking for a regular straight with a vintage style rise. Dare I say a 1955 501 style.
I've tried a 634. It was my first pair of IH so not knowing how the denim shrinks/stretches, I screwed up and got a 34 instead of a 33 (and had the 34 hemmed!). The combination of the rise and the fact they're too big, it's not a good look.
I now have a 666 in 33 which I like, but as above is a touch too low rise and a little slimmer in the leg than I'd prefer.
I've just seen the 1955 and thinking that might fit the bill. I cuff my jeans pretty high so perhaps the taper won't be as significant.
Third time lucky!

@1981FXe I have the same issue with ONI (their jeans at least) can't find a fit that works for me but I LOVE their 20oz secret denim ... Before getting my first pair of Iron Hearts, I spent the last 10+ years mainly wearing Uniqlo, Naked & Famous and Edwins jeans, but now I've been exposed to IH quality I could never go back to anything less... I told myself that 666 was my perfect cut, and that I'd never buy anything else, but picked up a couple of pairs of 555s from the marketplace yesterday, so I'm excited to see how they work for me!

I actually did manage to find a couple of good fits with ONI, most recently the 634 in the Secret Denim. But now (in the UK at least) there seems to be a lack of raws for whatever reason and now commonly 'one-wash' seems to be sold.
I'd had three pairs of the ZR (secret denim) from raw and it's fantastic, still have a Type II that's like wearing a soft, cozy denim blanket, however the one-wash version of the ZR is night/day different to the raw. Different hand, different fit, wears totally different over time.
About 5 years ago I had a stunning 22oz natural indigo pair of ONI with kabuki selvedge. Went to buy another pair and just impossible to get.
I hear you on the other brands. I have two pairs of Nudie in the closet, a 'Gritty Jackson' in their 14-15oz 'Dry Ace' selvedge and the 'Tuff Tony' in 17oz heavy selvedge.
Frustratingly the fits are absolutely perfect, like flawless fit. But as you say, hard to love the denim as much when you've been wearing the likes of Iron Heart.

@1981FXe I've only ever had the one wash stuff from Denimio. My double indigo type ii is an absolute beauty though, although the stitching hasn't held up too well... 2x cuff repairs in a year!
I had a pair of skin tight nudies almost 15 years ago, fond memories... My folks threw out the majority of my old denim stash years ago, took me a while to forgive them haha. I remember being unsatisfied with the fades at the time, but look back at photos today, I'd kill for my IHs to get ruffed up that bad!

@Alex Thank you very much!

Are there any changes in the „All Bottoms” section in online store? I see 2 new tabs Slim Tapered Cut and Relaxed Cut. And they are empty and go to the main page. Or am I tired enough for today?

@AdamJ thanx, yesterday I was close to ”I see dead people” mode. But all is ok

@Alex Thank you Alex

@Zee-Boo Complete side-bar, but I said "I see dead people" to a young person (early 20s) in my office the other day. They didn't understand what I was referencing. I think it's now officially a "boomer meme". I felt old before my time.

@EdH its sad and funny simultaneously, isn’t it? 🥸

I heavily favor the look of chinos that have ‘on-seam’ main pockets and have a difficult time sourcing them. Guess it isn’t a popular option. Lately I’m only aware of the RRL officer chino being made/sold. Nothing wrong with the RRLs but I’d be happier if I found an IH-quality/weight chino in that style. Any suggestions?

@Alex - I know the post was almost 6 years ago, but any idea what jeans you’re wearing in the IHTB-BOBRN - Wesco 10'' Brown Domain Boss Boot thread?

@Nik thank you for the above suggestion.
I checked them out online but their style is more refined/dressier than I am looking for. Looking for a more informal look.
