Oni Denim
-
My new acquisition, the Oni 14oz "Blue Fit". Not much info is out there about Oni's, so I'm on an adventure!
I LOVE the denim on these, and they are different to anything else I have. Slubby, hairy, and very cool. Construction looks to be top-notch as well.
If the sizing works I'm planning to make these my lightweight jeans for the upcoming Aussie summer. Actually I'm a little nervous about the sizing - BiG site suggests 8-10% shrinkage, and I hope they do because in their unsoaked state theyare a bit too spacious in the leg.
I'll put up some more pics in the near future (after a soak). Here's hoping they turn out favourably!

i think that your postsoak fit is going to be a great one…just wash´em (instead of soaking them!) at first to make sure that all shrinkage is gone and if you looking for even more shrinkage, dry´em as fast as possible...
btw. i somehow miss the old couch and the jar of pasta supporting it

All-in-all pretty happy with the shrinkage on these guys. Unless they stretch ridiculously with wear, I think they're keepers. The denim is even more amazing now after a soak, and I can't wait to get into these when the weather becomes too hot for IH.
Measurements ("Blue Fit" 14oz, tagged 32):
PRE/POST SOAK
Waist 34/33
Thigh 13/12.5
Knee 9.3/9
Hem 9/8.6
Inseam 36.5/35AFTER 1hr HOT SOAK:
and the pasta jar, just for Finn
Giving them another hoat soak as I type this, as I'd like a bit more shrinkage in the thighs…..

Had the same experience with my 18 oz pair- no shrinkage whatsoever on the second wash. No significant stretching, either. So you might be safe with yours.;)

And another picture while I'm killing time:
18 oz Oni model 211. About six months of wear, about 7-8 washes. Surprisingly little fading/evo, even for me.

Sadly, it’s time for me to retire my beloved pair of Oni 211. And before anyone freaks out and says, “but they still have tons of life left in them!” know that the only reason they’re going into the closet is so that I can participate in the HWDC2. Otherwise, I’d still be wearing them, because they’re just now getting to the good looking stage. If only I weren’t such a slow fader. It’s a bit sad, really.
Here’s what they look like after nearly a year of daily wear and 9 machine washes.
Check out that streaky, uneven weave in my sorry butt fades
Love the Oni patch

Planning to do exactly that. They're a nice relaxed fit now, so I'd have to get really fat for them not to fit.

looking good chris. Im tempted by Oni….but that needing another pair of jeans like a hole in the head analogy applies here...

ONI x Naked Famous collab just landed at my door. Fucking amazing. Never seen anything like this denim. So much texture. It feels like they hid a few stories in Braille throughout the denim. Not too sure of Naked Famous's involvement in this collab as the jeans were made in Japan by ONI with ONI denim and do not fit like the NF weirdguy cut.
- 14.5oz super slubby and irregular weave (famous ONI selvedge denim)
- Unsanforized
- Copper rivets
- Black enamel coated buttons
- Hidden back pocket rivets
- Deerskin leather patch with double-name branding
- Union Special 43200G chain-stitched hems.
- All made in vintage American machinery in Okayama, Japan.

Oni are the fucking witches of slub. I love those, bet the fades are gonna be nuts.
-
The denim sure is amazing, Urbs. I've got the same denim in a different cut (pics were on the previous page, but have somehow vanished….hmmm). It's great for summer.
As far as I'm aware, all the N&F collabs are made entirely by the collaborating company (i.e. Momotaro, Flat Head, Oni), so you're getting the quality of that brand, but with N&F specs. I know N&F cops a lot of shit about being low quality and/or a gimmick brand, but I really rate their collabs highly.

If the fit is good, then that's gonna be a fun pair for you. I love my Oni jeans.

Oni are the fucking witches of slub.
I had the natural indigo ones a couple of years back - mindblowing… If ants wanted to go up my pants, they'd 've needed a safety cord...

Yeah not sure what's up with that. Uploaded through tapatalk.
