Imagine your bet affected the outcome
The only betting scenario that makes sense to me is betting against my team. That way I win either way! That said, I don’t even do that.
I often refer to that as a Happy /Sad moment. Taken from the joke where a guy says to his wife, you’ve known me a long time, I bet you can think of something that would make me happy and sad at the same time. She says ,Your brothers dick is smaller than yours. Winning and losing!

@mclaincausey we had a neighbourhood pool for the Euros and before the final I was tied for the lead. I knew my neighbour would pick Spain but I couldn’t go against England. If England win I win the pool plus my team is European champion. If Spain win I don’t care. Spain won, I cried, I didn’t care about the pool

Week 13 kicks off with @IrishHeart needing The Lions to continue roaring against Da Bears, while @Mizmazzle is looking for The Broncos to bust The Browns. Good luck to both of you. Back on Tuesday.
-
@Mizmazzle Thank you so much. Doing a large family gathering today where I will behave myself, but on Saturday I will be smoking a turkey and we will be having a Fall cocktail challenge,so there is the opportunity for shenanigans! And of course the same to you and everyone else who celebrates.

@Mizmazzle yeah man 7 points would have won the game. Oh boy...I don't even know what else to say.
-
What a fun/great game. I can hear @Mizmazzle all the way in NJ!

Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books and 13 would not turn out to be the unlucky week for @IrishHeart and @Mizmazzle. It started on Thursday Lions/Bears division rivals, the annual Thanksgiving game in the Motor City. Down to the wire,30 seconds left on the clock,Da Bears need a field goal to send it in to overtime, but the coach doesn’t call a timeout, they run out of time, the coach is now out of a job,but the most important thing is that IrishHeart picks up an unbelievable ninth straight win. On to Monday, the last game of the week. Mizmazzle knows that the Lions won and if The Broncos lose IrishHeart will be the Lone Survivor. The pressure is on,the socks are out,the bourbon is out,and it’s on. The Browns with nothing to play for fought tooth and nail, but it seemed like in the end the altitude got to Jameis Winston as he kept on throwing the ball to Denver’s defenders, who were only to happy to catch it and run the other way with it. I’m watching the game and it was tight, exciting, and depending on the outcome what was I going to write. Best case scenario as Mizmazzle also gets his ninth straight win,and the battle continues, both players with brilliant strategies head into Week 14,seeking their 10th straight win. I’m out of superlatives on how impressed we all are with how well you’ve both done. I told you this was going to be more exciting than the Tyson/Paul fight. Back to football on Thursday,Sunday and Monday. Signing off from Cranford,NJ. See ya next week.

The bar wasn't all that high to be honest. Love the write-ups, as a very casual follower of the NFL your pool and the excellent commentary actually make me follow the results more closely

Last night was a really fun game. Very concerning that the Donks let the Browns put up over 500 yards but what a shootout.
-
Riley Moss was out and that dude Wallace who was filling in was responsible for a lot of those yards given up. But over all our defense was getting beat left and right. Could have been the curse of the last game before a bye week…dudes were already on a beach somewhere in their minds.
-
@Mizmazzle yeah but even Surtain blew at least one coverage. It was wild.
-
@mclaincausey it’s true. Not a good performance on either side of the ball. I was def feeling the emotional highs and lows of that game. Haha. We got the W though and playoff chances are looking solid! Gotta beat Indy!! Both teams will be coming off a bye this week and hungry for a playoff spot. Should be a good one.
-
@Mizmazzle yup. Would love to end the season demolishing the Chiefs to get the postseason started on the right foot!
-
@mclaincausey That would be incredible. Have to wonder who the Chiefs would have starting in that game being the last of the season and having clinched the top seed more than likely.
Honestly, I'm really pulling for The Bills to pull ahead and force that final game to matter more to The Chiefs. If we beat them, I don't want any excuses for why...
