The SS25 work vest has no stripes, if thats what you mean by non-patterned, @Bill-C
Thanks @Alex - yes, that was what I meant to ask
@Alex - is this the SS25 vest? https://www.ironheart.co.uk/future-releases/IHV-03-BRN.html - thanks - Bill
@Alex said in Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?:
@tody I think just nice wood, strong, and maybe branded with Iron Heart (i mean heat branded like a cow, not just branded like a brand)
Would cedar be a good choice? Repels moths, but I don’t know if it might discolour clothes(?) More versatile if the metal hook swivels rather than being fixed imo.

@neph93 too bloody long! The IHV-02 has been flying the flag for a good while. Funnily enough, there is a certain sample we've been showing retailers for SS25 that is the same build, but is *%.%x&/£ instead of Wabash on the front
Hi @AdamJ - are you able to give any further clues about the SS25 sample? The IHV-47-IND looks great, but I’m just wondering if I should wait for the possibility of a non-patterned IHV-02 style vest instead. Any non-classified info much appreciated!
Thanks - Bill
Hi all
Is there anyone other than Prometheus Design Werx that offers well made velcro-backed patches which are not “political” - many thanks - Bill

Our oldest son has used the GR-1 as book bag and abused it for years. Still looks new. Just ordered one for myself. Couldn’t resist the sale.

I ordered the smaller 21L GR-1 some years ago following a recommendation here. It was insanely expensive to import into the UK but has proved to be worth every penny. I use it pretty much every day and always aim to take it as my only piece of luggage when travelling - “less but better” (Dieter Rams).
A totally over-engineered version of the 1970’s elastic snake belt in various colourways?
Another IH beer collab - an over-engineered Pompey Royal?
1955 jeans in the IHSH-308-IND fabric - perfect for summer!
Would an IH x Norman Walsh collaboration work?

MORE LIGHT SHIRTS (long-sleeves) - summer‘s begun here, and I can do 21oz pants with temperatures above 20°C, but I can‘t do 14oz shirts
For example, the super versatile IHSH-201 in other colours …

Given how s**t most umbrellas are (even the ones that claim to be the ‘strongest’)…
IH Umbrella ️ ?
A mixture of cordura/primaloft/brass/other lovely stuff that helps it do its job.
Complete with duck sleeve??“Only Good Umbrellas Endure Time”

I’m in a waiting room.
At the risk of disloyalty to IH, may I suggest https://www.foxumbrellas.com/ - these things are strong and they offer repairs.
@RWalleyTX - I have 1955 and 888. 1955 are about an inch higher on the rise and are definitely roomier/straight in the leg. I’m no denim historian but to my mind the 1955 definitely has a retro 50’s vibe.
I find the 1955 super comfortable and wear them for everyday wear. I get the 888’s out when I want a slightly smarter look.
Hope that helps - Bill
A reissue of IHSH-170 would fly off the shelves - in other words, I’d definitely buy an XL ️
IHSW-11 in British Racing Green
Hi @goosehd - I hardly wear it nowadays, so I’m erring on the side of eBaying it with full disclosure about the need for repair/full service - appreciate your advice
Thanks @goosehd - that’s really helpful advice - it’s an Archimede Deckwatch btw - Bill
Can I ask you watch guys for some advice? I bought a handwound watch with an ETA 6498 movement about eight years ago - cost me about £700. The manufacturer recommends a service every 5 years, and I was meaning to get this done. I haven’t worn it much recently but have wound it fairly regularly. It’s just stopped working (winder turns but nothing happens - seen thru glass back). A reputable local repairer has looked at it in person and quoted £200 for a full service.
I’m unsure whether to cut my losses and eBay it as in need of repair, or shell out the £200. I’d be reluctant to invest £200 every five years, but is this to be expected with this type of watch?
Many thanks - Bill
@Brandrea said in 1955S - 21oz Selvedge Denim "1955" Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo:
Man I’m tempted by these but … I’m sort of tall and thin (6’2”-175) and I think the rise on these might be a little too high. I started with 666 in IH and love that fit (this coming from cheaper Diesel type jeans with a low rise).
I finally decided at my age (56) I’d try a more relaxed fit, so I bought a pair of 21oz 634’s. A year later, I’ve got 4 more pairs in a variety of demin lol.
Just not sure I’m ready to try these yet. Anyone with a relatively thin tall frame have any advice on how they wear?
Hi @Brandrea - I’m 6’ 1” and 180 lbs. My inside leg is relatively short for my height at 33”, so I find the high rise kind of makes my legs look more in proportion! I also have the 888’s, and the 1955’s are definitely a baggier, more relaxed, retro fit with plenty of room around the knees. The rise is high - I’m wearing 1955 now and the waistband comes right up to my belly button. The high rise also avoids a gap on the back when I sit down which works for me. Just my opinion, but I’d say the rise is the defining feature which may or may not be to your preference.
Hope that’s helpful - Bill
