Amazing. I've always been intrigued with how the artist and the person being tattoo'd come together to create a coherent theme for a sleeve. I've been interested in getting a half-sleeve since I can remember but it's really a big decision to make, one that's dependent not only on the artist's ability but in being able to bring a variety of elements together to create something truly beautiful; something that will age effortlessly.
Absolutely remarkable, riff.

I'll be in Tokyo for a week and I'm toying with the idea of getting inked (again). Who would IH'ers recommend for traditional Japanese designs, small surface, as I only have a 4-5 hour block of time available.
Thanks!

Tattoo Soul in Ikebukuro.
It is the "public" studio of the Horitoshi Family. Very traditional and famous tattoo family…still doing tebori (hand poked) style work.
Let me know if you'd like any more information...I had seen their site, thanks, they do look like wicked artists!
Do you know if tebori is taking longer than needle machines? And painwise??? -
Kat…one day i really want you to tattoo me. IH theme?

As for pain, nothing worse than a machine would be.
Most people find it more rythmic and relaxing… -
@aki:
Is Horiyasu recommended?
Highly…
Do you know how much does he charge for per tattoo?
