A Long Heritage
"G.A. Krause founded his footwear over 125 years ago, inspired by men who wanted the quality-made products but also demanded comfort and craftsmanship. It would soon revolutionize the industry. Paying attention to the smallest details, utilizing new materials and employing find craftsmen, the Wolverine brand was born."

What did you do?
OK so there are clouds today so I have some good light for pics. Below are the Brown 1000 mile boots that I have been beating the shit outta for nearly a year now. I have hiked a couple of hundred miles in these things on a variety of trails and conditions, stood in muck mud and water for hours, in the rain repeatedly, wore them out and about and just kicking back, untold fishing adventures, walking my dog, kicking around in cow pastures. Yeah pretty much anything I would do has been done wearing these. All I did was brush them and soaked them down with boot oil. Got a nice patina going on.
So if you want a tough good looking boot these are the ticket. Beat them and with minimal care they will go wherever you go for a long time, No worries, no problems and I'm going to order myself some tan Ascots. I don't think the soles will last a thousand of my miles but hell I've had boots that cost just as much completely self destruct in less than a year.

I recently just started wearing mine. So far, I love them.

Halls KC also! are you local?
Mine also started falling apart. They are Darbys – the Originals may be more solid.
I love mine. The heels are just fine after a year.
Did you order yours online? I got mine from Halls KC and they were the only pair left in the whole city, apparently.

Ah! Glad there is a topic about the 1000 miles!
Got mine about three months ago. The Horween leather is great, nice fit of the boots. Definitely more comfortable than the equivalent Redwing that I tried in the shop.
BUT:
as said herein, the heels are not tightly fixed to the sole and they are getting a bit loose. Now, we are talking of a movement of 0,5 to 1 mm, but I do not know how it will evolve.
My biggest concern was the bad finish of the heels overall. With a good shoe laid on the floor the heels should lay perfectly flat. I checked in the shops for all Wolverine shoes and they all have the same problem that the heels tend to rest on the heel breast.
As I usually do with leather soles I brought it to a cobbler to get nice gum soles, better for rain and snow, and he said that the boots are great but that at the price one pays for it (400€), this non standing heel is to cite him: "eine Frechheit" meaning a cheek. He cut the heel breast so that now the boots are perfectly standing and the comfort is great. My one comment here: either you just care about fashion and the look, so that you go for it and get in pain after a while or if you want a real good fit, buy the boots knowing you almost surely will have to bring them to a cobbler who knows his job… or buy a different brand...

Good to see a Wolverine 1000 mile thread.
Here are my pair, approximately 2 months light wear.
The Good :
. They look amazing
. OMG they smell sooo good ( Ok weird, I know! )
. As comfy as slippers from the start, except for the heal area (see below). The Bad :
. The sole seems to be really soft! Check out the wear on the tip of the toe after no more than 10 days wear.
. There are large lumps in the heal area where the vamp joins the sole, not comfortable and not good on a shoe of this cost! The Ugly :
. Man made lining - seriously, on $300 shoes! Also, check out the way its been badly stitched to the tongue, nasty.
. Construction faults would never get through quality control on a British made pair of shoes.Despite the issues, still great shoes, worth buying at sale prices.

And probably less than 1,000 miles…...
Far less. The stitching on the back of the heel, fastening the upper to the sole, is also coming lose.
The upside is, these cost more than 500 USD here in Norway, so I can get my money back and get a pair of black white's semi dress with medallion cap toe for not much inbetween.

Wow lucifer! These look bad.
Mine are not that far, I guess because I gave them straight from the shop to a cobbler. But I can see them getting a bit loose at the heels.
I would definitely not buy Wolverine again and can not recommend people to get a pair. At 400€ one could expect more. Even though the leather is amazing, you can find Horween somewhere else…
