IH-666-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
If sailors had used 25 oz denim during WWII, instead of using them as a floatation device in the event of shipwreck, they could have just used them as a raft. I did see a pair of wax coated 634s on the SE site, I bet you can surf on those…
Breaking out the jeans later today. The wife folded like clean laundry. I'll report back asap.

I won!
After 15 days, they have surrendered! The bike has been quite useful in this battle (see the sweat on my shirt), but do not try this at home, these jeans are not the ideal choice to go biking. Now infamous, are-u-tough-enough frightening 666-XHS are docile as kittens!
Great fit on the XHS Georgeel. Off topic, how did you size with your round tow Red Wings? Half size down from your regular sneaker size? Thx

Thankyou sir

Let me rephrase: why would anyone want/need 25 oz denim? I love my 25 oz 634 to bits but even after a month of solid wear taking two steps at once on the stairs is difficult. Same goes for getting on/off a bike. 25 oz IS comfortable but it DOES impede movements so much that I would draw the line there.
@Giles:@entropy:
ehhhh…why? (serious question)
Because these were at the limits of what is possible. Indeed, we thought at one point the factory that does the weaving would say they just were not prepared to carry on.

Hmm, yea. I remember the first time i tried to get on/off my bike i thought i would fall down the other side.
But after 3 weeks of biking, walking, working in them 24/7 they got a lot easier for me to move in them.
They're a tough nut to crack, but its doable, if you stop to care about how hard it is.
Why did i want these jeans as my first IH? Cause i'm crazy enough to give it a try, i guess. -
Pics coming soon. Me holding a baby wearing Iron Man denim and possibly a Mexican wrestling mask…
I thought for sure I was doomed when the bottom button on the fly wouldn't budge, but once it caught the rest weren't as bad. The honeycombs almost draw kneepit blood when I bend. I will persevere.

Getting on/off a bike wearing 634 25oz? Don't make me laugh… Try wearing 666 25oz!

I had to buy an S clip for my beltloop cuz my keys won't go in my pocket and my Red Wings are soon to be Blue Wings. The indigo line on the inside weft crease where I cuff took approximately 30 seconds to form. These pants are for serious y'all.
My wife rolls her eyes at me when I ask her to take pics for you guys, I'm still working on it though…

Yeah really… I do it 4 times a day! The trick is tipping the bike about 30 degrees and then tossing your leg over. And I ride a big frame so that my the tips of my feet barely touch the ground. So far nothing has been as hard as the 666OD. The XHS was relatively easy.
