Red Wing Shoes
-
I have the 1907's, they wouldn't be good for ice/snow. They do slip and they're not insulated so they'd
be cold for winter weather. -
and 8E fit me perfect :). I was a bit worried due finding plenty of size down 1/2 size advice on these shoes but I have discovered the size down advice doesn't work for something with an E width.
I'm about an 8E and I went with an 8. I'll have them next Tues/Wed and will update you
Anyone got any sizing advice for these

I take a US9.5 in Iron Rangers should I go for the same of stick to my usual US10?EDIT
Actually never mind, I've got enough boots! -

Anyone seen these around in their area in a size 8.5 US (model #2974)
They've got them here
http://www.classicredwingshoes.co.uk/products/2974Red Wing shoe store in downtown LA has them Pete, I got a pair in brown about 2 weeks ago.
Thank you both for the info!
Blackheart, so you saw the black ones in the LA store ?

To anyone with the Hawthorne Muleskinner leather, how have you treated/protected it? i am dying to wear my new pair that i just got in, but i want to treat these prior to wearing them. Any suggestions? i saw online at the red wing site that they have a red wing protector and at another place (brooks brothers) they said mink oil would be a good idea. Can someone please shed some light? i have the Iron Rangers.

All I put on my Hawthornes was the Redwing protector, the mink oil is for the brown or black ones not the ones with roughout leather.

Please don't. These are no hip hop Timberlands that need to be spotless and clean. Hawthornes (at least the Iron Rangers) NEED to look greasy.
Not the best pics but I think you can see what I mean:
Thes were never treated at all. -

Cool story bro. I dont want them to be spotless and clean, i want them to repel water if they can. Gets rainy round my parts and i didnt want to have boots heavier than my denim. And Hip Hop has no affiliation with Timbs. But i suppose that also depends on where you live and how often you see it.
@D97x7- would you say the protectant will help keep some water out?

Yes I think it does, I wear mine while walking my dog over wet grassy farm land and I haven't noticed my feet getting wet at all.
