Momotaro

Sorry, Jimmy, overread your post!
Here you go:
0905 SP, unwashed, exactly 4 months in.
First wash: maybe today? What do you think -too early?
The colour is not 100% accurate, they are darker and more contrasted in reality. -
Nice jeans kotaro. Your wallet Is giving that pocket a workout.
Thanks max fir the update. Was keen to see your combs on a loose fit as mentioned before and yet you still have killer combs, anything you do to cause this? I love combs but can not for the lift of me produce anything like that.
As for washing I just don't bother unless they really have to.
-
Yes, there is a trick I do (wrote it down somewhere around here before). As I like to have settled and sharp combs, I put water on the back of my knees when I put on new jeans and do some squats, then let them dry - by doing that you get pretty strong combs that last for a long time, in places where you will get them over time, too. Pretty simple but effective.
-
interesting jean, nice.
-
0905 SP, 7 months in, 1 hand wash.
-
wow!!
Colours of fades incredible!!!
Definitely on my wish list is a pair of Momos to work on if I can find a pair small enough.

@Max:
this thread need pictures:
0201 vs. 0905 SPMy Momotaro 0201, worn since June 2010. Since Nov. in rotation.

What do you wear in which jeans? I personally would actually size up one, as the thigh is pretts slim. I would now wear a 34 (33 in LVC, 32 in IH, 33 in the 0905 SP).

Not sure. I haven't bougth my first pair of raw denim. The measured my Levi Heshers:
waist 34
front-rise 10.5
back-rise 14
upper-thigh 12
knee 8.75-9
inseam 31.75
cuff 8.75
hip (accross bottom of crotch) 23They are slightly tight, but not bad.
I like the Momotaro's with the white lines. More of a classic fit preferably. I like the straight, or the slightlyslim straight cuts.

Well, then I'd recommend a 0805SP or 1005 SP. The 0905 SP will be too wide and long rised for you. Size 33 or 34 should do it…

Why do you say the 0905 will be too wide? I like the 0805sp. What does SP refer too? Let alone, I can't make much sense out of the momotaro website(s) because of the broken english/translations, so any education on the styles would help.
THanks,

No problem.
Momotaro has four lines:- vintage: 15,7 oz denim, raw, slimmest 0701, widest 0901
- Going to battle: white stripes, same 15,7 oz denim but one-wash, slimmest 0705 SP, widest 0905 SP
- Copper label: 14,7 oz denim, one wash
- the fourth is the natural indigo model.
What you are looking for, ist the going to battle series, the SP indicates it. The cuts are similar to the vintage label, but like I said one wash and with a shorter inseam (35" opposed to 39,5" raw, 36,5" post-soak).
The 0905SP is the classic wide, the 0805Sp and 1005SP are tapered with a lower rise, the 0705SP is the slimmest and lowest rise.
Hope this helps.

I think they're beautiful jeans, despite the zippers.
I nearly bought a pair, until I calculated their sizing:
Tight fit ladies size 24 measures:
Waist - 28" (I measure 23")
Hips - 34" (I measure 28")So I reluctantly didn't order them.
I also sadly sold my virtually unworn PBJs because of the size -I'd need size 0000!
I also like Kapital so if anybody is going to Japan I know the model number of the style I'd like so maybe you could help me track down a pair.I doubt I'll grow into IH by next year and I'm so jealous (in a friendly way) of all you IH wearers.
Can't afford TW made to measure again until 2013 but I've designed them already! :-*IQ

Thanks a ton Max Power!
Few more questions though: The jeans I measured only have a 31.75' inseam, and I can cuff those (3/4 -1 inch cuff), so 35 is going to be quite long. You said the SP's are one wash, so much of the shrinking is accounted for?
What sort of shrinkage could I expect out of those in the inseam, as well as the waist etc…?Thanks again!
-
Well, I had almost no shrinkage at all on the Going to battler series. The waist stretched approx. 1". But then, I only did handwashs and never soaked them. You might get more shrinkage when doing a hot/warm machine wash.

So are the 0805sp a pretty standard straight fit?
The jeans I have that are snug have these measurements:
Waist: 34
FR: 10'
BR: 15
Thigh:13'
Knee:9'
Hem:8.5'
Inseam: 31.5'
