black chuck taylors cos my workplace specifically says we need to wear these.
I could think of much worse uniform requirements to have.
Agreed! And if you HAVE to wear 'em did your place of work supply them discounted?
-
so if i'm right Seul and Chris are both saying that Paula a.k.a. MADame UNbuttonfly is a kid with no style when it comes to footwear?
Seul…how do you sleep at night?
Exactly.
I suppose I should clarify- I detest Chuck Taylors, always have. I've never owned a pair, never even bothered to try a pair on. However, what other people choose to wear is their call. I try to refrain from making negative public statements about fashion, since it's a completely subjective field and diversity of opinion is what makes life interesting.
Having said all that, I made an ill advised choice on which post to quote. My comment was more in agreement that being required to wear Chucks is pretty unfortunate. If I was interested in a job and that was part of the uniform, I wouldn't even apply. Chuck Taylors are a deal killer for me.
Oh, and Paula is always lovely, regardless of what she wears. She should know I think so, too, since I've tried to chat her up a few times…:)

That's hatred right there!

Yes. Yes, it is.
About the only other footwear that I dislike as much are Clark's desert boots and boots with a white wedge sole. I also really dislike moc toes on boots. Which puts me at odds with about 95% of the folks on this forum and SuFu, but I recognize that I'm in the minority, so I try to keep quiet and move on to commenting about things I do like.

what's your go to for footwear chris?
i love that you have your own opinion, who cares what everyone likes/dislikes. oh & much respect for not trashing folks that wear footwear that you dislike
-
it's all good mate ;)…and Paula knows that WE ALL love her, so yeah
Like I said, diversity of opinion is what makes the world interesting.
As long as we can discuss those differences calmly, rationally and with respect for one another, everything is good. -
what's your go to for footwear chris?
Casual sneaker type shoes I wear either PF Flyers or Palladium low boots. Otherwise, I'm in cowboy boots. Like I said, I know I'm at odds with 95% of the other folks around here…

who cares. we are an odd bunch, DO YOUR OWN THING.

Dude they both are forums so opinon and discussion are the lifeblood of such places as long as you don't resort to a F U attitude, then i respect your thoughts.

Thanks for the good vibes, guys. That's one of the reasons I keep coming back to this forum.
Heavy Duty- if I have something useful to contribute, I'm perfectly willing to do so, but my dislike for the previously mentioned items boils down to "I just think they're ugly." The way I see it, that doesn't further the discussion. If it were an issue of quality, comfort or something that could be defended on a reasonable basis, then I'd happily share my thoughts. But if all I can say is that I don't like it, then there's not really much point. As the old saying goes, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
And if you dumbasses think that crap is beautiful, then my superior taste and refined sense of style is utterly wasted on you plebeian douchebags.

it's for the new abercrombie & fitch flagship store here in singapore. decent pay and really flexible schedule so i'm in for the job.
The real bonus to working at A&F is the mass amount co-ed of wool you can slay!

Now this is cool.
@MastersOfDeath:…and then everything started to turn blue...
orlylow- congrats on getting the job. I hope you'll enjoy it. Working retail sales is an experience I think everyone should have, along with working in restaurants. You get to see the best, worst and flat out weirdest behavior ever.

I definitely will…
looking forward to having a feel of their jeans too. about 270usd?

Have to say that I'm with Chris on this one. I was raised on a steady diet of Jordans, Air Max and AF1's, so I never saw the point in CT's as they just felt uncomfortable to me, and I did try.
My go to footwear is a steady pair of Wolverines or Abingtons for day to day, and Jordans or the like if I'm feeling sneakers.
My 2 cents.
