Hahahaha. My thoughts exactly. But each man is allowed his own preference on strap length I guess.

It's for carrying me lunches at workdays, (at winter time when I'm not riding a bike), you crazy fecker and occasionally to get me some beer at my local grocery store…
I wouldn't call it a purse, it's 35x37 cm.

I found this: http://zackwhite.com/xcart/product.php?productid=17213&cat=647&page=1
that strap is 3" wide, an iphone 4s is 2.28" wide. Meaning that I'll have 0.72" for two seams and "bend".. is that a bit narrow for such thick/heavy leather? will I have problems getting it out of the sleeve if I make it of that heavy leather?
Ps: I was planning on a process similar to the one in this guide: http://www.unplggd.com/unplggd/diy-project/diy-how-to-make-your-own-great-leather-ipodiphone-case-067510

I think you need to get the leather thinner where you are going to sew. Half thickness is good, then you get the sewn part to be as thick as one side/strap. Hope you understand what I'm saying.
I think I'd use around 5oz. leather lined with 1-2oz leather. for such item.
just my 2 cents

Thanks for the feedback! I think I'll stick to your advice Any links to good how-toes on sewing lining?

glue the lining to outer part. and still make the edges/area where to be sewn thinner, even with 5 oz leather.
Get one of these to get edges beveled.
