Given my love of NZ and Japanese denim, anyone have a pair of these or an opinion on them ?
http://andewhall.bigcartel.com/Ande makes beautiful jeans. His attention to detail is unbelievable….

Beatle‚ first contact with Ande has been established ! Jeans are made to order…could be some time before they make the 12k mile trip...
Giles hope you don't think I am a Judas...the NZ/Selvedge connection was a 'no-brainer' for me (Neil who bought the FH1001 getting a pair too)
Iron Heart will always be Number 1

hey giles, i noticed in the picture of some of your jeans on the first page that the first one on the top from the left is a Steam Locomotive. just wondering if you can give me some insight into how you like them and what cut you got? i know they have a xx denim and a xxx denim, could you please perhaps shed some light on the difference if you happen to know??? thanks

They are TSL. I am now going to be a big disappointment to you - I have no idea. They are the baggy ones and the denim is super slubby. It fades great, but the cotton used for stitching, in my opinion, is way off being up to the job. I blew the front right hand pocket stitching (the RHS is always first to go with me) in about 2 weeks.

^ no disappointment giles, i appreciate all of the questions you have been able to answer for me and this is no exception. really really glad to know that it is super slubby… tho hearing the stitching will be inferior, or at least as you said not being up to the job. Thats a bit of a turn off to them as i tear through each and every pair of jeans i have, minus the 2004's...but i'm working on it and here will be the first place to see what happens! ::)

TSL stuff supposed to come into SE in the next week or so I believe.

@tfar:
What a bummer. I never had the stitching on any jeans break. Maybe I'm not hard enough with my jeans? I mean I do wear them until they get holes in the knees and I always stow my wallet and keys in the front pockets. But I never had any stitches break not even on cheap jeans.

I always bust cotton stitching, Poly core takes me a lot longer. G

Polycore has a central core of a filament or filaments of polyester which is then wrapped with coitton. It looks like cotton from the outside but is many times stronger. All IH stuff is sewn together with super-strong polycore - Haraki claims it to be the strongest he can source (and I have no reason to doubt that), occasionally he will use 100% cotton yarn for areas of construction/detail where super strength is not needed (arcuates for instance). Obviously, traditionally jeans were stitched together with 100% cotton yarn, but it does wear and bust pretty quickly. Some people love the fact that it does and many of the repro (sorry - tribute) jeans use cotton as it is more "traditional".

Yeah, I have been waiting to see an email sent out via their email newsletter that usually goes out after new shipments and what not. Really hoping that more info comes to be known once Kiya has them in stock. I got interested in this brand over a year ago but there really isn't much on the forums about this brand, so I'm hoping kiya brings about a change and flood of info about TSL
