Well…you might as well use search function
Jawns are like other clothes, they are meant to be washed...nothing more.
With regular washing you won't get so pronounced, some would say predistressed looking fades, but more even and to me, appealing, fading throughout the whole jawns.
With regular I mean that they are washed when they get dirty...even after 1 days wear, or at least then when normal 24h airing doesn't make to smell go away fully, or the smell "gets back" soon after proper airing. Then you're jawns are dirty, even if they don't look dirty...
Also surface dirt causes abrasion and therefore makes jawns wear out prematurely. And if you postpone washing too long, result might be brownish dirt in the fabric that doesn't get off with washing, Then your jawns are "dirty" forever...That's something I personally hate.
Just IMHO, and written so nicely that it shouldn't piss anybody off....

Hey that actually was a pretty friendly post! hahaha
Anyway I'm pretty much in agreement. Dirt on your jeans busts up your threads… if you're into that look then by all means go for it.
Jeans companies instructing you to not wash your jeans for 6 months for 'best' results are actually hoping that you just destroy your jeans faster and then have to buy more. -

and i fully agree with IJ. we paid top dollars for these jeans and IH put in lots of effort to make these jeans. so i would never do anything unnecessary to get fantastic or crazy fades. just wear them as per normal and let them be whatever they will be.
btw IJ's post was very friendly for sure.

I think Volcano was actually agreeing with you, Scroogen!
As I read it, the "nudie peeps rubbish" comment was not directed at you, but at the manufacturers who perpetuate this idea that you should never wash your jeans.
amen! i wasn't directing at bro scroogen! i was agreeing with him about the "nudie bullshit 6 months at least wear advice".
imho, nudie is just trying to shorten the life of your denim by asking you to wear as long as possible (at least 6 months) before 1st wash which actually shortens the jean's lifespan by alot. i had a raw LVC before and the staff told me not to soak or wash and wear it for as long as possible. being new to raw jeans ( about 5-6 years ago), i followed his advice religiously and guess what?
i wore my jeans for 2 years straight. the fades were not really fantastic (maybe cos they were quite loose or i don't know why either). but i got a major crotch blow real soon and my cuff areas were all badly torned. lesson learnt from that incident and i always soak my jeans before wear unless they are sanforized then i wouldn't since there isn't a need.
so yeah, soak and wash your jeans regularly.

Well if that's the case then sorry for being a jerk
oh dear! im sorry if my post wasn't clear but they definitely were not directed at you. i was on your side mate. i agree with the "bullshit nudie 6 months at least wear advice".

i see that now
i guess i just saw nudie and i thought 'well thems fightin words…..'
hahaha i come in peace and not war. amen!

I think those 6 months are only a rough guideline for guys who are new into dry denim world. If you slip on a banana and land in a puddle of dogpiss and/or shit after one day of wear and still plan to go six months straight - have fun.
But as volcano said. It depends from person to person how long you are able to keep your pants away from water and detergents.

I love a happy ending.
hahaha don't we all love them. you don't wanna be left cold while in the heat yeah?
jokes aside, yeah the forum is small so lets make buddies instead of enemies.

its actually quite easy to keep them away from water and detergent but the fact is, would you? doing that shortens the lifespan of your jeans. and these jeans are painstakingly made by respective people with countless hours put into it. not forgetting the hard earned money that i used to buy the jeans.
