IHSH-53 - 12oz Raw Selvedge Indigo Work Shirt
-
Just decided that we will rerun this shirt.
But, we will use the same metal buttons as IHSH-68 and use brown constructional thread instead of white…..
YESSSSS LIKE FINALLY!!!
G, i'll take a medium. ETA? i don't mind making payment first if need be.
note to self, "I AM NOT GONNA MISS THIS BEAUTY THIS TIME!"
but on a side note, any reason for the brown constructional thread rather than white?

I bought this off MikeC. His has the buttonhole issue that a few have mentioned.
I took it to a local custom jean shop that do repairs as well. They said the buttonhole can be repaired by hand but won't look that great. He said he was surprised at the quality of the stitching compared to other IH items he had seen. He said the needle used for the stitching was too large for the lighter weight denim and that the placket should of been reinforced beforehand. Also, he said the buttonholes were too large for that size button, or the buttons were too small for the buttonholes, however you want to take that. He's going to fix the buttonhole that is coming undone and tighten the buttonholes on all the other holes so they dont slip out easily. He also pointed out that all of the other buttonholes will eventually come apart as well because they were already starting to show signs of it. This was just his opinion but it seemed like he knew what he was doing.
I'm sure you guys will address these issues with the rerun.
Also, he said if I really loved the shirt he could replace the placket but it would be fairly expensive and would obviously be a different denim.

MM, I think that's a great idea. I was actually just going through my button drawer wondering what I could do to change the look a little. I like the idea of the darkish brown thread that we used on the ducks…..And I think I'd change the buttons to a brown to match.....
thank you sir!

@G Have you got a form handy for this new beauty? Would like to be on the list :).
(edit, ^ being a little playful, and serious at the same time. Assume there won't be a form until after construction…just seen you suggesting the form gets filled out so frequently, it's expectant =))
And somewhere along the way I started putting money aside just for IH. That was a smart move!

The form is generic. You can complete it at any time for any product. When new product arrives (whether restock or first time), we parse the file for model number (and any other descriptor that we think you guys may have used) and send the emails out to all matches we get.

Fancy. Cuff it and get your martini on. Just make sure you pants don't stink and scare the women away.

Anyone find a fix or have a suggestion on the button issue?? Mine has 2-3 buttons that falling apart now and i am very bummed out about it. Any help guys?
-
PP, it's prob the same issue that Shane had with the one I sold him. It can only be fixed by hand and it will always look a little hokey, but I think it's cool. His tailor said something about the placket not being stiff enough and the buttons were too small for the button holes. Anyways, throw up a pic and the forum will assist you….

Dont have a pic of mine G but its the same "buttonhole" virus thats been goin around.
This is Volcano's pic but its the same as mine
And Mike, i did read shane's post about what his tailor said. Just wondering if anyone has fixed one or knows the best way to.

Almost all of my buttonholes are messed up now. I'm gonna try doing them all by hand myself.
