@CLJ:
Everyone is different and takes it in as such. Let your artist guide you through it and enjoy the experience. For me it is almost meditative…which is not to say it is comfortable, because it isn't. I love mine and regret none of them. If anyone tells you it is a passing fad, they're ignorant. Tattooing pre-dates Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam. Ancient Egyptians tattooed, as did the Vikings. Tattoos are here to stay. Pretty cool to be taking part in a tradition that is older than written history.
Ötzi the Iceman had tattoos, which correspond to acupuncture points. He also predated all of the above that CLJ mentioned.
At 5300 years old, they're the earliest known tattoos. It's obviously a very long running fad.

EL, we're over at affinity, we have a buddy from Oklahoma working here. Man, if I still have time, I may have to hit Zac up.

damn that's a long wait. sure worth it though…
Friday can't come fast enough. having my first appointment ever
just talked to my artist the other day, changed some things from the first sketch he did for me and he also came up with some new ideas, so I'm really looking forward to the "final" result on friday. not looking forward to the pain though -
going with a local artist who's tattooing for over 16years now. he only makes appointments 4times a year so the waiting list is also pretty long. if you call like 1.5h after he starts accepting phone calls, you might as well call after the next 3months…
check a few pages back, posted a few pics there...getting an owl on my chest!
