No luck with another soak on these, leg opening is 7.25 now and after checking the other measurements these things really didn't shrink at all anywhere else.. real shame and so much for sanforized. They're up in the marketplace if anyones interseted

I have deleted a lot of posts. Nothing was being gained from the discussion.
I am going to try and invent an anti-shrinking machine. That way I can shrink every pair of jeans, publish the results and then de-shrink them. That should fix quality control.
So are you going to keep deleting my posts to polish this thread for your business? Seems you have a hard time accepting a problem here, Giles. Anyway I'll be soaking my pair again tomorrow a little longer than before with some agitation

"accepting a problem"…what problem mate?
Giles said you can expect 3% shrinkage MAX which is 0.2" in the hem, so if you ain't getting those in the hem, let's say you're getting the hem to shrink to 7.2" that still sounds about right…so I really don't see a "problem" here mate. all is good, you might just try to wash them one more time at let's say 40-60C and if you ain't getting what you were looking for, you just have to live with it or sell'em...you really can't do more about it!
If the waist shrinks about 3% (1 inch out of 30), then the most the hem will shrink is 3% of 7.3. That is only 0.2 inch.

I'm upset that you think there is a problem, but the problem is in your head. This denim shrinks about 3%. If it has not done so yet, it will. How on earth do you think that one pair of jeans made out of a roll of denim will behave any differently than any of the others made out of the same roll. "Polishing" the thread does you more good than me. That is my final public word on this. If you want to take it up with me via PM, please do.

Hello again!
Looking at these IH-555 in a size 36.
I measured a pair of great fitting jeans a few minutes ago and here are the measurements, these jeans have been soaked, washed several times. And also worn!!!
Waist: 48 cm across
Knee: 23 cm across
Thigh: 33 cm across
Hem: 21.5 cm acrossCan I do a size 36 on these? Or do I go with the unsanforized 21 oz IH-55-01´s?
I really want a slim tapered fit that´s snug allover. Nothing crazy like Cheap Monday BS though

Hi Alex81.
If you take a look at the measurements, 36 sure looks like the right size for you.
But it all depends. Are the jeans you just measured tight on you in the waist ? cause then you might need another 0,5 inch to be able to squeeze inside these beauties.
With a little experience you can control the size of your jeans a little bit.
Cold/hot soak or wash, tumble dry, and you can also stretch the inseam while still damp.
Once i even used a jack (thing for lifting a car) to make a little more room for my thighs.
Not recommendable if you expect Giles to repair or give you another pair if this thing breaks throughI always size down, and wait for the denim to stretch….......and after only a few weeks i exhale
Go for it, and if it's your first pair of IH, welcome to the club
