IH-2526J - 17oz Duck Modified Type III - Brown
-
Ordered the XL in brown yesterday Not a sensible choice given the season but screw it. Couldn't resist all these pics. Great cut, interesting fabric and beautiful colour. It'll go great with my BB or any other jeans (don't like wearing denim jacket AND pants).
Just a question on the fabric: does Duck wear in any interesting way over time? It'll be ultra cool if it does..
Cheers

Finally received the brown duck IH-2526J today! Within the package was also a bag of chocolate for the upcoming festive season. Top-notch and thoughtful customer service. Thanks Paula and crew!
Now on to the Jacket. What a beast this is! Out of the blue plastic bag, it felt as stiff as cardboard. Almost literally. Heavier still than I imagined. F*cking hardcore! The color is the main reason I parted with my cash and in real life it looks stunning. Classy, vintage and tough as nails all at the same time. It also had a wonderful 70's vibe that I particularly like.
Putting it on for the 1st few times takes some getting used to. Denim is soft as a baby's bottom in comparison. In it, I felt like getting in a bar fight then going out to pick up some chicks. Yeah!
The fit I think is excellent. I went for XL. I read somewhere that G is 6'2 and I'm the same height. Loved the way it looked on him so I took the plunge. Shoulders and arm length are perfect but the jacket feels a bit short. Wish it was 1 inch longer. Alternatively, I could have went for XXL. Not sure it would have been the right decision though. I've uploaded some fit pics (hope the show, t is the 1st time that I post pics on a forum). Your comments are appreciated!

Sleeves and shoulders look perfect to me. How does it feel buttoned? If you have enough room in the chest and the waist, you're fine. I am 5'10" and got the XL as well (mostly for the shoulder measurement), so it is longer than yours. I'm sure there are photos of mine somewhere in this thread you could check. The evolution is nice on the duck as well. Congratulations, it's a great jacket.

I think the fit is perfect as is, A Type III is meant to be short. If it covers your belt - which it does - you're good to go….G
Short jackets rule. Easy access to gear on your belt and look way better IMO. Thanks again for having these made, G.

Thought of sharing an update 4 days in:
Took it to Beirut with me last weekend and wore it 4 days straight (indoor and outdoor). The weather was cool (17 Co) and a partially cloudy. It was also hunting season apparently. All in all a great time to wear duck.
Happy to find out that with size XL, I could wear a heavy sweater underneath without compromising the fit or comfort. I’ve tightened the 2 waistband side buttons to avoid backward flaring and keep the back straight. That made a great improvement on the fit. Also, I’m really starting to dig the short length. It gives the jacket a bad ass attitude
With every day of wear the jacket lost its initial ultra-stiffness and felt more broken in and much better fitting. I particularly like the elbow creases. You can already feel that this garment will age very nicely. Not expecting any dramatic evolution, just a slower aging that will give the jacket more personality.
It’s not a very discreet piece. Kept getting compliments and I think it was mainly the colour. An old-school shade of brown that seems to have somehow vanished from the modern-day wardrobe. The Type III cut is also fantastic and works especially well with the fabric. The combination of the duck’s weight and color and the classic Type III design gives it a unique vintage vibe! I read somewhere these were initially supposed to be over-dyed. So glad they weren’t.All in all, a unique piece with a very big personality that is quickly becoming my favourite light jacket. Best looking Type III out there if you ask me. Highly recommended!
Note: I noticed that my leather patch is different from the ones shown in the thread. It is the 666 design with “the Devil Duck 17 oz” added to it. Seems more fitting

…My sentiments exactly. Thanks, Zatenm.
