Lately, this song has been stuck in my head:
-
Just purchased a record that has blown me away. I never thought I would ever be that into Converge. All We Love We Leave Behind is not only IMO the record of the year but may be the best record I have heard in a long time. I am a huge fan of music but, not a huge fan of hardcore. This record i can only describe as ferociously beautiful it has melted my face. I'm off to the local record store to pick up the rest of Converge's albums. Outstanding work Nate and company.

Still regret that I missed them when they came through Houston. Stinking kids gave me strep throat and I felt like ass that weekend.

@JLG:
Nate was actually a part of releasing 2 amazing records this year Converge's AWLWLB (mentioned previously) and Old Man Gloom's 'NO'.
All this love is making me get all weepy!
-
^i wanna see your list
-
me too!
-
Not in any particular order, but here is a preliminary list of what has stuck with me from this year…
Converge - All Love we Leave Behind
Joyce Manor - Of All Things I Will Soon Grow Tired
Old Man Gloom - No
Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d. city
Neurosis: Honor Found in Decay
Blut Aus Nord - 777 - Cosmosophy
Pig Destroyer - Book Burner
Hop Along - Get Disowned
Vattnet Viskar – Vattnet Viskar EP
Cheap Girls - Giant Orange
haarp - Husks
Dragged Into Sunlight - WidowmakerTop Three
Pallbearer - Sorrow and Extinction
Ab Soul - Control System
Witch Mountain - South of SalemFavorite re-release
Kid Brother Collective - Highway Miles. This one's kinda special, was randomly given this CD at some show quite a few years ago and it's always stuck with me. Great album by some dudes from Flint, MI. One of my friends (http://www.lansingscene.com/lprecords/) decided to re release it vinyl, plus I get the chance to see them play in a few days! It's also streaming at punk news I believe for those interested…My best discovery of the year goes to the LA Gemstones: Pop and Rock Compilations. A whole bunch of great 60's pop and rock (http://crystalsphere1.blogspot.com/search/label/V%2FA%20-%20L.A.%20Gemstones)
and then there's my guiltiest pleasure of the year, which is Ke$ha's Warrior.
A little disjointed, but I think that about does it…

good list!

I just want to take a moment to say Godspeed, Mike Scaccia. Mike was the guitarist of Ministry and Rigor Mortis, and for a few years, he was the Gibson Guitar rep when I worked at Guitar Center. He died on stage last night. He was a super great dude, and had some great stories, and was a killer guitarist as well. Bummer.
