Has the Goruck bubble burst? I've been reading some not very complimentary things about them on EDC :-\
Still loving my GR1, just wondering what happened for their stock to fall so massively with enthusiasts.
Had my GR1 for a couple of years now (cheers Monday mate) and it hasn't moved. Solid piece of kit. Love the thing. Which is more than can be said for my IH IHE-01 which has a hole forming after 20 wears. Wish Goruck would make a Messenger. Any suggestions for a bomb proof, sweet looking (no man purses please!) messenger welcome

They did make a laptop bag (not quite a messenger but perhaps worth a look). Tad gear also made a messenger esque bag.
I have the goruck aviator kit bag and one of their cheaper rucks, both of which are glorious bits of kit!

You should check out the Bedouin Foundry Genghis messenger. Hand made in England, rhino wax fabric, English leather, mil spec hardware and a lifetime guarantee. Fabric will evolve over time. I have one and it's beautiful

The following are also good options:
Bagjack next level messenger (they make the bags for acronym).
Trakke bags (they do a nice one with Harris tweed in it).
The modern industry faraday tote pack - converts from tote to messenger. Limited numbers thoughSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How about Mission Workshop? I don't have personal experience but I've heard good things.
-
I almost bought one of them when I got a new messenger…
But, to build off what was said in the last page, I bought another Timbuk2 bag because I have had nothing but amazing customer service from them.
The Mission Workshop bag was better though.

Decided against the "ada blackjack" (#295) because it has no extra pocket for small items. Found a nearly new Seil Marschall LW Climbers Pack on ebay instead for a good price. Good choice if you´re looking for something "over-engineered". Nothing that hasn´t been shown in Rocket´s post (thank you for introducing that brand) but anyway, some pics of the navy Seil Marschall:

TAD Gear EDC Fastpack. Haven't used this for a while as suffered a back injury last year and been trying to minimise the amount that I carry for work and this bugger is heavy on its own so been using my basic goruck pack.
Took some work home last night and thought I would break out the beast once more. Especially I was trying to justify purchasing a goruck GR0 the other day.
Excellent construction. Loads of pockets, removable beaver tail (which I removed), laptop sleeve with reinforced back plate, couple of tad pouches attached to straps and a few tad patches thrown in. Lots of storage capacity and the opportunity to add more pouches.
I'm thinking of pumping it be replacing the buckles with austrialpin cobra buckles just to over engineer the fuck out if it!
Loaded out today with laptop and accessories, two a4 lever arch files with documents, chinos, tshirt, IH-95.

After travelling with a Tom Bihn Brain Bag for the past 3 weeks I feel pretty confident in saying that it's not up to IH level of quality. Bag smelt of plastic on initial opening, and has stuck with the bag for weeks. The zippers catch all the time, the Brain Cell (laptop protection) was annoying to get in/out and feels of cheap plastic. Most of the hardware feels of cheap plastic. The bag didn't hold up to a light shower; soaking the contents of my bag. The straps are way to freaking long, and I would tread on them at least once-twice a day. The sternum strap felt again, cheap, as well as never properly adjusting to be fully load-balancing/retaining.
Would not recommended.

Yesterday I ordered the MAKR Farm Rucksack in black @ the OEN-Shop in the UK.
Today I got the bag, two thumbs up for the OEN-Shop and FedEx.
The first Impression of the rucksack, bombproof, thick and heavy canvas cottonduck and thick natural leather straps. Simple nice but nice design, enough space for my 13" Indiego-died MacBook, some books and other stuff for school.
Looks like a new EDC for me!!! -
that's a nice clean design pack JCM, would love to see some construction details, when you get a min…
@specmvl great choice, I do enjoy mine still every time I use it.... but be warned, women will run after you and stop you on roads, just to find out what backpack you are wearing.... happened more than once, no kidding....
