The beast in question is a over 50ft long, 17 ft tall ice breaker used in the Northern states in the 80's. It's the most badass piece if machinery I've ever seen.

An ice and snow plow built by Union Pacific to clear the rails during extreme snow falls. This one in particular weighs about 376,000 lbs and has a 3000 hp generator engine to power the electric wheel. This plow is out of commission, I'm guessing due the amount of energy it takes to push it (since it has no included means of locomotion), and the massive crack extending through the blade. I found a fast video of one in action.
Pretty cool, hard to think that the one in the video isn't even as big as the one in my pic. -
