IH-555S-21 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Jeans - Indigo PREVIOUSLY IH-555-01

01 is 21oz 02 is 18oz and raw. The 21oz may be heavier but breathes much better then the 18oz which is a much tighter weave. I would not recommend sizing down on 18oz denim. It does not stretch as easy as the 21oz.
.
thanks, that's really helpful! I didn't know a 21oz pair can be cooler than an 18oz one. I guess 01 is for me since it tends to get pretty hot here. I'm size 30 and will buy size 28 in the 01's since I'd like a slimmer fit. sounds good?
I will echo that the 21 oz is fairly forgiving as far as stretching but I think that sizing down 2 on a jean this slim is not the smartest choice. I'm a 30 waist and the 30 was too small in the 666 18oz and the 31 is just right with the 21oz Beatle Buster. Just my opinion.

the problem is I really prefer 6.5" hem, which is why I'm eyeing 555 in the first place. and the model that has it is 01 size 28 and 02 size 29 after soak.
allow me to do some calculation. with size 28 in the 01's I'll get 29 of waist size, which hopefully will stretch to 30 over time. something wrong with that plan?
or should I get size 29 in 02's instead with 31 waist which probably will shrink to 30 and the 6.8 hem to 6.6?
also take into account that I live in a tropical country.
thanks again.

Be sure to check the thigh and rise measurements, as those might help you make your decision. Going by waist and leg opening alone could result in an uncomfortable fit, especially if you have muscular legs. I've learned that I can't handle jeans with a thigh less than 11" and a rise of 10" in my size. The thigh will stretch some in the 21oz denim if it needs to, but if it's too snug to begin with you might not be happy in the long run.

Finally landed a pair of these and love them! Like Monday, can't believe i'm rockin' skinny I went tts and would advise anyone who doesn't leg-press an ice-ceam van 100 times a day to do the same. Waist is a little loose but the thighs are tight for now…will stretch out enough to be perfect though I reckon. Really nice cut.
-
^this cut is so versatile. I love my pair, great pick up
-
Congrats! Fit looks good - I think you're going to be happy with them!
Yes i am very happy with them!!! Love the fit and its really darn comfortable after i broke in to them!

Just washed mine for the first time.
After around 4-5 months of wear, they really needed a wash, as my part time job is in a warehouse/storeroom they get alot of dust, sticky tape, cardboard rash (it's a real thing) and sweat.I didn't take any 'before shots of the proper side, but i though this was pretty cool!!

Can anyone who owns both these and anything that is 25 oz. comment on the similarity of the denim? Does the 21 oz. have the same super soft, silky, (suede-y?) feel that the 25 oz has after it has been worn for a while? Thanks.

Thanks Giles!

Have you guys done any hot soaks? I was wondering if a hot soak would make the rise shrink a little… So far, these are the best pair of jeans I've ever owned! But sometimes I wonder if I should have gotten a 28 instead of a 29. They feel a little loose without a belt. My BB Raws in size 30 are slightly smaller in the waist than my size 29 555-01s.

hot soak/wash won't hurt the denim but it might mangle your patch.
oh & the 21 oz denim stretches like nobodies bizness, so in a few days you will be pretty much back where you are now.
just rock out with them & admire that you can bend down with out your entire top of your ass hanging out of your denim
-
Yeah, I've seen a few fried patches before.
I just thought that a hot soak would bring up the rise a little.
It's not that I don't like the rise, but I just thought that a slightly lower rise would be better.
And after thinking about it, getting the size 29 was the right thing to do. I forgot that I'm not done growing!
