nice allthough the exhaust is a horror

There's a choice of three different Akrapovic/OEM exhaust options I think, being BMW I can't imagine they'll be cheap, but I would change from the stock one too, I'm not a fan of the double look. There's a good looking single pipe Remus available, I haven't looked into price etc though. It's a beautiful bike regardless, and apparently rides very nicely so please be sure to let us know your thoughts after riding it. Enjoy!

@activechild the R Nine T is gorgeous. I've run an R1200R for the last few years, which has similar oily bits, and it goes well and is frugal. My brother described it as teetotal, on the grounds it doesn't drink petrol.
I believe that there's a high level and a low level Akrapovic exhaust available. As @MP said, they won't be cheap.
BMW are rumoured to be dropping the water cooled Boxer engine into the R1200R next year, and the bike will have a conventional front end. It'll probably not be as pretty as the R Nine T, but should be unveiled at Intermot at the beginning of October. Depending on delivery times, that might be another option to consider.
@Giles the custom bike sounds interesting. Looking forward to updates.

Exciting news @Giles. Can't wait for more info.

H and I are working on a Custom Bike. It will be the first time this particular Japanese manufacturer has ever collabbed with a clothing brand. We'll be touring Europe with it next year…....As soon as I can say more, I will......
Actually, @MP:

Actually @MP, the Remus pipes sound like s**t in comparison to the stock pipes. I was really shocked to hear the sound that came from them. I actually enjoy the sound of the stock much more. Here is a test/ sound link with the Akrapovic pipes @Graeme and they, IMO sound nothing short of AMAZING! http://www.akrapovic.com/#!/motorcycle/product/road/14575/sound?brandId=44 Personally, I like the sound of the low mounted Akrapovic pipes best out of the 3. I agree, they won't be cheap and I'm pretty sure I'll end up either sticking to my trustworthy Honda or at least, getting something in a cheaper price range. You live once, and unsure of when I can say I took out an R nine T for a spin, so I'm going to go for it with intention just to ride and figure the rest out later. Something tells me though, I'm gonna want this bike taking up space in my garage The R1200R is a super bike as well, but have yet to hop on one. Some say BMW are trying to rid stock of their boxster engines, which I think they should continue to produce as many as they can with them.
@Giles, cmon now! I agree with @Bluegrass. You can't just leave us hanging, as I think your plan seems to be going in a great direction. Please tell us more…
I'll report back on the r nine as well, I "may" have the balls to test out their top track street bike; the HP4, but unsure I want to risk getting on top of that rocket. Either way, I'll let you guys my take on either or.

@Graeme, thanks for me learning a new word today. I actually had to look up the definition of "teetotal". ha

Into motorbikes and don't know the meaning of the word dry?
You'd get on well with my brother…

Indian have just announced the Scout, which is roughly their take on the Sportster. @Finn666 I'd seriously consider this as an alternative to the Fortynine you were eyeing up the other day.
I suspect it's not going to be something that @injunjack would go for, though I'd be interested in hearing his thoughts. I rather like it, despite not being into cruisers.
Motorcycle Daily has a first ride report up, which is positive, but these things normally are.
Criticisms? What is it with cruisers and single front brakes? And the fuel tank is rather small, so I hope the engine is frugal.
