IH-555-02 - 18oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Jeans - Indigo
-
555 is such a great cut, wish I could justify getting the 555-02 and completely the trifecta.

Hi there,
i own an IH-555-03 in size 32 and I am thinking of buying also an IH-555-02.
I think that a 02 in size 33 soaked should show nearly the same measurements as my 03.
Can I assume my thoughts are correct? Thanks and best regards.

Just a gentle reminder - I'm sure you all have more important things to do than measure front rises
The Front Rise measurements on the sizing chart look like they might have been mixed up:
Size 30 - 10.5
Size 31 - 10.6
Size 32 - 10.0
Size 33 - 10.3
Size 34 - 10.5Ouch, they sure do. Thanks, we will check…....

@babyknight , @twin & @zatenm thanks all for the kind word. i think i'll squeeze into these from time to time as the denim really looks nuts. in hindsight i should of grabbed a pair of vulcans when i had the chance as I'm a fan of the fade of this denim, just didn't want another pair sitting around getting no love.
here's some shots just cause pictures seem to be lacking a bit over here:

Soaked my pair yesterday in hot water for an hour, agitating every 10 minutes or so and by my rough measurements, lost approximately:
-
Waist: 1.5 inches
-
Front Rise: 0.25
-
Rear Rise: 0.50
-
Thigh: 0.50
-
Knee: 0.20
-
Hem: 0.25
-
Inseam: 1.0
Does that look about right or should I give them one more initial soak? (I was kinda hoping to lose more than an inch on the inseam.)

How much stretch did you get in the waist and thigh?

Just store bought my first pair of Iron Heart denim!! Really happy with the product, however I jumped the gun on the sizing!!
I was debating whether to go for 36W or 34W whilst purchasing. As they were un-sanforized and slim fit I opted for the 36W, anticipating they would shrink to a 35W after pre-soak (2hrs approx 60 degree water temp). The 34W was really tight, and I doubt I would have been able to do them up after the initial soak.
The denim didn't shrink as much as I anticipated, and hence they are a little loose around the waist (approx 1 inch). I was considering tumble drying, alternatively I will wear them a little loose with belt. Any suggestions? A little concerned on the stretching, would be keen to hear from other owners on their thoughts?
Wishing I had read this thread (along with the sizing threads) prior to purchase …. however good research for my next pair. I think the 666 cut might suit my shape better (95kg, 186cm).

I guess you could super hot soak them again and you might lose a little more. The fit of the 555s is "roomy" in the waist as opposed to snug though of course you should be able to wear without a belt.
If a second soak doesn't do the trick you could cut your losses, sell and chalk it down to experience.
Personally I love the 555 and 666 cuts. I would say that the 666 while slim does allow for a little more room but has a much snugger waist. Much easier to get the 666s off compared with the 555s. If the latter cut works for you then the 666s will definitely look good.
