Thanks everybody…..
Paula was on the support RIB that was looking after my group. Her main job was to take photos's, she took this one especially for me, but I dedicate it to @summ3rhays ….

Lovely to see you at the beach @Simon and @Winchy for the send-off this morning. Also huge thanks to @Alex - who we were asked to call yesterday night at around 9pm to ask if he could stand in as driver with rib, as one of the ribs needed to look after the swimmers had broken down. He readily agreed, despite knowing that he was working through the night till around 5am. Did a fantastic job today, couldn't be more proud of him and his dad.

I'm thinking of doing either that or a longer crossing, Just discussing with one of my swim buddies whether we can swim right through the winter…
To tell the truth, I was a little humbled last night. Our local sports shop has a "Sporting Hero of the Month" award. Anna Wardley, (she who swam around the Isle of Wight non-stop - 60ish miles) last year and really was my inspiration to actually try and swim, nominated me....
Anna Wardley Can I nominate our 21 cross Solent swimmers who swam from Stokes Bay to Ryde today? Or if I have to go for just one I nominate Giles Padmore from GosVegas who started from scratch to train for the SolentSwimChallenge. He taught himself front crawl at Gosport Leisure Centre a few months ago when he was struggling to do 12 lengths, supported lots of the other swimmers as they trained for the event, had a great swim today and has raised over £5,500 for the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust in the process. Just one of the amazing 21 who made it across to Ryde this afternoon.
OK, it's only a local Gozza shop, but never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined my name would have been associated with sporting let alone hero…

That's fantastic G, well done.
